Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills, stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.
The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture with low profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is intuitive and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available and comes with a lot of extra features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
