In this work, the harmful NOX gas was used as electron acceptor in MFC and converted to harmless N2. The OM in water was indirectly used as a zero-cost reducing agent for NOx removal. More than 80% of NOX was removed continuously by MFC at room temperature. The NOX was directly reduced to N2 at MFC cathode and the cathode activity played a key role on enhancing the NOX removal. The NOX removal efficiency by the cathode of high potential was 1.37 times that by the cathode of low potential. When O2 coexisting with NO as the electron acceptor, not only the NOX removal but also the power output of MFC was improved greatly. The presence of NOX did not decrease the power generation of MFC under the same O2 concentration. The MFCs showed good stability for NOX treatment and power output. Moreover, the possible pathways and advantages of NOX removal by MFC were discussed in detail. These results indicated that the MFC system has the potential to treat wastewater, purify flue gas and recover energy simultaneously.
Scapular kinematics of breast cancer survivors are most often evaluated during arm elevation. However, known compensations exist during functional task performance. The purpose of this study was to determine if scapular kinematics of breast cancer survivors during arm elevation are related to scapular kinematics during functional task performance.

Scapular kinematics of 25 non-cancer controls and 25 breast cancer survivors (split by presence of impingement pain) during arm elevation in 3 planes and 3 reaching and lifting functional tasks were measured. Scapular upward rotation and scapulohumeral rhythm (SHR) at 30° increments of arm elevation were calculated. Between-group differences of upward rotation during arm elevation were evaluated with one-way ANOVAs (p<0.05). The association of upward rotation angle and SHR during arm elevation and functional tasks was tested with Pearson correlations (p<0.05).

Scapular upward rotation was reduced for the breast cancer survivor with pain at lower levels of arm elevation in each plane by up to 7.1° (p=.014 to 0.049). This is inconsistent with functional task results, in which upward rotation decrements occurred at higher levels of arm elevation. Upward rotation angles and SHR during arm elevation had an overall weak-to-moderate relationship (r=0.003 to 0.970, p=.001 to 0.048) to values from functional tasks. Arm elevation during sagittal plane elevation demonstrated scapular upward rotation that was most closely associated to upward rotation during functional task performance.

Antenatal care providers have a key role in providing appropriate information and immunization recommendations to improve pregnant women's vaccine uptake. The objective of this study is to describe health care providers' perspectives and experience regarding the implementation of maternal immunization programs in Latin America.

We conducted 33 in-depth interviews of health care providers from Argentina, Brazil, Honduras, Mexico, and Peru (6-7 per country). Qualitative data analysis was conducted using a combination of both manual techniques and the computer software program NVivo. We identified and coded main themes related to maternal immunization.

The main themes identified in this analysis were practices related to maternal immunization, knowledge and training, resource availability and interactions with pregnant women. Healthcare providers knew that recommendations exists but some did not know their content; they expressed concerns about insufficient training. Providers from all five countries expreh improvements to supply chain and other structural issues.

Owing to increasing demand, counterfeit benzodiazepine tablets are mass-produced in clandestine, unregulated environments and sold as legitimate pharmaceuticals. This study aimed to examine the contents of counterfeit alprazolam tablets available in the unregulated drug market in British Columbia, Canada.

Data were collected from an ongoing evaluation of a community drug checking service in British Columbia between October 2017 and March 2020. The service operates point-of-care in harm reduction sites using Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometers coupled with fentanyl and benzodiazepine immunoassay strips. Benzodiazepines and alcohol have previously been associated with buprenorphine toxicity. This study elucidates the role of emerging concomitant drugs in different groups of buprenorphine user deaths.

All cases in the Finnish national post-mortem toxicology database from 2016-2019 in which buprenorphine or norbuprenorphine was a laboratory finding in any post-mortem specimen and age at death of 15-64 years were investigated for cause and manner of death, concurrent drug and alcohol findings, age, and gender.

There were 792 deaths with a buprenorphine finding, of which buprenorphine was implicated in poisoning without other opioids in 271 cases (34 %). In this group of buprenorphine poisoning deaths, concomitant benzodiazepines were found in 94 % (clonazepam 53 %), illicit drugs in 63 %, gabapentinoids in 50 % (pregabalin 41 %), alcohol in 41 %, antidepressants in 32 %, and antipsychotics in 28 % of cases; only three deaths showed no benzodiazepines, alcohol, or gabapentinoids.
