Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one time without the need to switch between devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that it is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs are required like emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like auto vacuum cleaner tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path in a way that is automatic and clean around them, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular style is striking and has just three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry mess. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. In addition the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also comes with an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also lets the robot to reach under furniture that is low-profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available however, it comes with numerous extra features that distinguish it from. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There's a plethora of options available which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning process, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
