equency of the halo sign and bilateral, multilobar, and upper-lobe involvement.
To characterise symptomatic intracranial plaque without substantial stenosis using three-dimensional (3D) high-resolution contrast-enhanced black-blood magnetic resonance imaging (BBMRI) and to determine plaque features associated with recent cerebrovascular events.
The institutional review board approved this retrospective study. The case notes from patients with evidence of intracranial atherosclerosis in a large intracranial artery with preceding BBMRI were reviewed retrospectively. Symptomatic and asymptomatic plaques with substantial luminal stenosis (<50%) were matched by plaque location and patient age. All MRI images were de-identified and interpreted by two neuroradiologists who were blinded to the history of symptoms. Qualitative analyses including the presence of intraplaque haemorrhage (IPH), eccentricity, surface irregularity, and grade of plaque enhancement were recorded. Quantitative analyses including normal wall index and degree of contrast enhancement were calculated. Multivariate regsociated with previous events, and may serve as the vulnerable feature, thereby stratifying stroke risk not achievable by luminal stenosis.
to investigate auditory and language skills in children with repaired cleft lip and palate.
The sample was composed of 22 children registered at the hospital where the study was conducted, seven to nine years old, 50% being female, with repaired unilateral cleft lip and palate (right or left), without associated malformations. CDK inhibitor Auditory skills were assessed using four central auditory processing tests Random Gap Detection Test, Dichotic Digit Test, Dichotic Non-Verbal Test, Sustained Auditory Attention Ability Test. Language performance was evaluated by four standardized instruments Illinois Psycholinguistic Skills Test, Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test, Token Test and Phonological Skills Profile. The association between auditory and language skills was evaluated by the Fisher exact test at a significance level of 5% (p<.05).
The central auditory processing tests evidenced that only one child presented adequate performance in all skills analysed, five children presented impaired performance in all skills, and 16 exhibited deteriorations in one to three auditory skills, highlighting that temporal resolution was the most impaired skill (81%). Concerning language, three children presented adequate performance in all tests applied, and Visual Association and Auditory Association were the most impaired skills (40%). No association was observed between deteriorations in auditory and language skills.
There was high occurrence of impairment of auditory skills, which compose the central auditory processing, as well as of language skills, with greatest impairment of receptive language.

In Europe, tisagenlecleucel (Kymriah™) has a marketing authorization for the treatment of relapsed/refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children and young adults and for the relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The marketing authorization for axicabtagene ciloleucel (Yescarta™) is the treatment of relapsed/refractory DLBCL and mediastinal B-cell lymphoma. Both products are "living drugs" and genetically modified autologous T cells directed against CD19 which is an antigen expressed throughout B lymphoid differentiation and on many B malignancies. This collaborative work - part of a series of expert works on the topic - aims to provide practical advice to assist collection facilities that procure the starting material i.e. blood mononuclear cells for autologous CAR T-cell manufacturing.Radiation treatment of early stage nonsmall cell lung cancer has evolved over the past 2 decades to progressively more hypofractionated treatment courses. Results comparable to surgical resection are seen with stereotactic body radiotherapy, which is now the standard of care for medically inoperable patients, and a treatment option for operable patients as well. Understanding of the optimal radiation dose and fractionation are evolving, especially for central tumors which have higher treatment toxicity than peripheral tumors. The dosimetric advantages of particle therapy lead to significantly reduced integral dose to normal tissues, making it an attractive treatment option for body sites such as the thorax. With reduced normal tissue dose comes the potential for dose escalation, toxicity reduction, or hypofractionation. While proton and heavy ion therapy have been used extensively for NSCLC, there are challenges in planning and delivery compared with X-ray-based radiation therapy. Particularly, range uncertainties compounded by breathing motion have to be considered. This article summarizes the current state of particle therapy for NSCLC with a specific focus on the impact of dosimetric uncertainties in planning and delivery.Radiation-induced lung injury encompasses radiation-induced pneumonitis, inflammation of the lung which may manifest as a dose-limiting acute or subacute toxicity, and radiation-induced lung fibrosis, a late effect of lung exposure to radiation. This review aims to highlight developments in molecular radiation biology of radiation-induced lung injury and their implications in clinical practice.Recent treatment advances have improved outcomes for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), often utilizing tumor molecular characterization to identify targetable mutations. This is further enhanced by advancements in "liquid biopsies", using peripheral blood for noninvasive, serial sampling of tumor biology. While tumor genomic alterations have established therapeutic implications in metastatic NSCLC, research is also ongoing to develop applications for tissue and liquid biomarkers in earlier stage disease, such as patients treated with radiation for early stage or locoregional NSCLC.
