Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't quite as adept in removing debris such as metal screws or chunks of pasta. However, they are excellent at sweeping dust, pet hair, and food particles. The best models have intelligent navigation technology that can help them avoid cords, toys, and other obstacles in the household.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is an excellent robot vacuum that has a variety of innovative features that make it easier to maintain than other models. The automatic bin emptying feature is among the most useful features we've seen in a robotic vacuum. It is a great choice for both carpets and hard floors. It's also simple to install and use and the app will guide you step-by-step through the procedure. Another impressive feature is its ability to return to the spot where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 minutes on one cleaning, before running out of battery.
The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums we tested has a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris into an external dirt container on the base of its charging once it is fully filled. The i3+ EVO can be kept from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it must be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dustbin holds 2.4L of waste and is enough to last four or five cleaning sessions before you need to replace it.
This model, like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor-tracking sensors to produce maps. It also lets you navigate through neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, while the i7 can store multiple. The i7 also has the ability to use its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO cannot.
While the i3+ EVO is better in removing dirt and debris from surfaces than the other robovacs we reviewed but it's not the best for cleaning corners and edges. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being remarkably quiet. It was quite rough on furniture as it moved chairs away. It also made some collisions with the sides of the bed.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
If you're looking to increase your collection of robot vacuums or just starting out using one, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It packs serious power, advanced navigation, and handy automation into a sleek and stylish design at an affordable price. It's the most affordable pound-for-pound model on sale right now and even beats some of Roborock's more expensive models in a variety of ways.
This robot is great at cleaning floors that are not clean, and its avoidance tech assists it in staying away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also does well on carpets and scores a high score for our tests of navigation. The only issue is that it's more raucous than the other models we test, and it doesn't fare as well in our owner satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.
The Q5 Pro has a very large 770ml dust bin that means you don't have to empty it as often as some other 2-in-1 robots. The 240-minute runtime is quite generous in comparison to other robots we've tested. When the battery is low, it returns automatically to its dock, where it recharges and then resumes cleaning from where it left off. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and make voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. That, combined with some other advancements, allows it to excel in our mopping and vacuuming tests. You can plan cleaning schedules, create no-go zones, and view the battery's condition among other things. The app is easy to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of the beginning of November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to reflect that this feature will be delayed until 2025. HomeKit isn't compatible with other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that is able to mop, and is a great value, the TP Link Tapo RV30 Plus is the right choice. It offers an impressive set of features for the price and has a chic design. You can control the device using different buttons on the machine or via the app, and even use voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container is able to automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus is a ideal vacuum cleaner for everyday messy messes. It can also be used to lightly mop on hard floors. It comes with mopping cloths that can be replaced and a sweeper brush, and a HEPA filter. It can be used in conjunction with a smart home hub like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for easy voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to set up and is connected to a wide range of floor surfaces using the automatic mode. During the first mapping session the TP-Link RV30 Plus scans and records the home's layout by using its LiDAR and Gyro dual navigation system. You can edit the map in the app and split or merge rooms based on your preference. You can also build virtual walls and no-go zones that will stop the RV30 Plus from straying into areas you do not wish to visit.
4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is one of best full-featured robots for flooring made of hard wood. It features a high-tech mapping system that can map your home across several floors. And the well-designed base station nearly completely automates the cleaning process. It is a great obstacle avoidance system and navigation.
This model uses an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to identify your home's location, and create efficient cleaning routes. The iMop awed us with its analysis of coverage and navigation efficiency and was adept at getting around obstacles, such as furniture. It's also able to find its way back to the base station, which is a great benefit in the event that it is unable to recharge its battery during cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a specific area on your floor. It can also be programmed to follow a specific path, which is useful if you have narrow staircases or hallways. It did a good job of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning review, but it struggled with higher pile carpets and carpets. It is also possible to set it to automatically raise the mop pad whenever it encounters carpet, which is a wonderful option if you wish to not mop your carpets.
The iMop has an onboard dust bin and water tank, which it empties at the end each cleaning session. The onboard dust bin holds up to 2.5 liters of debris and will only require emptying after a couple of cleaning cycles. The water tank can withstand about a dozen mopping sessions before it is dry. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than an standard robot vacuum, which could be a major selling point for busy families.
The mobile app for iMop is user-friendly and packed with options for configuration. It offers multiple suction settings as well as mopping settings, and scheduling. robot vacuum cleaner sale lets you design virtual walls and no-go zones, so the robot won't wander into areas that aren't safe for it.
