The hypothesized protective effect of a high-quality parent-child relationship was not observed. IPC predicted fear of abandonment for all children, except for those with low- and moderate-quality father-child relationships, for whom IPC was not significantly related to fear of abandonment. Findings highlight the need to optimize child coping programs and improve parenting-after-divorce programs to reduce IPC.
To assess the accuracy of intraoperative aberrometry, the Barrett True-K No History (Barrett TKNH), Barrett TKNH with posterior corneal measurements (Barrett TKNH with PC), Shammas-PL, and Haigis-L formulas in patients with cataract who had prior myopic refractive surgery.

This was a retrospective consecutive case series of patients with prior myopic refractive surgery undergoing cataract extraction. Mean absolute error (MAE) and median absolute error (MedAE) of refraction prediction were compared for each formula. Interactions of each biometry measurement were modeled for each formula to evaluate those with the most significant impact on refraction prediction.

One hundred sixteen eyes of 79 patients were analyzed. MAE was 0.40 ± 0.33 diopters (D) for intraoperative aberrometry and 0.42 ± 0.31 D for the Barrett TKNH, 0.38 ± 0.30 D for the Barrett TKNH with PC, 0.47 ± 0.38 D for the Shammas-PL, and 0.56 ± 0.39 D for the Haigis-L formulas. Comparisons between formulas were significant for Barrett TKNH verlens selection in eyes that had previous laser refractive surgery for myopia. [J Refract Surg. 2021;37(1)60-68.].
To report the distribution of pupil offset and angle kappa in 750 myopic, emmetropic, and hyperopic eyes presenting for refractive surgery.

A retrospective study included 750 consecutive eyes screened for corneal refractive surgery between January 2006 and February 2013. The eyes were divided into three equal groups based on manifest refraction spherical equivalent (SEQ) emmetropic group between -0.25 and +0.50 diopters (D) and cylinder up to 1.00 D, myopic group greater than -0.50 D, and hyperopic group greater than +0.50 D. Angle kappa was measured with the Orbscan II software (Bausch & Lomb, Inc) and pupil offset defined as the distance at the corneal plane between the corneal vertex and the pupil center. Correlations with SEQ, cylinder, scotopic pupil diameter, average keratometry, and age were performed.

All results are reported for myopic, emmetropic, and hyperopic groups, respectively. Mean SEQ was -4.84 ± 2.89 D (range -0.88 to -14.00 D), +0.21 ± 0.23 D (range -0.25 to +0.50 D), and +2.44 ± t least 0.18 mm. Confirming previous studies, the largest pupil offset was found in the hyperopic group. However, there was also a wide range of pupil offset in myopic and emmetropic eyes. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of transepithelial corneal cross-linking (CXL) with supplemental oxygen.

This was a prospective, non-comparative, pilot cohort study conducted at the National Reference Center for Keratoconus (Toulouse, France) on patients with progressive keratoconus. Transepithelial, pulsed, accelerated CXL was performed in an oxygen-rich atmosphere. Oxygen goggles were applied to the eyes to maintain a high level of oxygen during treatment. The main efficacy outcome was the mean change from baseline in maximum keratometry (Kmax) and the secondary outcomes were the mean changes in flat keratometry (K1), steep keratometry (K2), mean keratometry (Km), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), and demarcation line depth. The safety outcomes were the incidence of adverse events, the mean change in pachymetry, and endothelial cell count.

Thirty-four eyes of 34 patients were included. At 12 months postoperatively, the Kmax decreased by 1.56 ± 1.71 diopters (D) (P < .0001) and CDVA improved by 0.093 ± 0.193 logMAR (P < .02). The K2 and Km decreased by 0.51 ± 1.03 D (P < .02) and 0.40 ± 0.78 D (P < .01), respectively. There was no change in K1 and UDVA. The most frequent adverse event was corneal haze (64.78%). There were neither cases of infectious keratitis or loss of more than two lines in CDVA nor changes in pachymetry or endothelial cell count.

To investigate the pathogenicity and immunogenicity of human corneal stromal lenticules from small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE).

Serological testing was completed prior to sample collection to rule out infectious diseases. Pathogens herpes simplex viruses (HSV) type 1 and type 2 were screened for by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and bacteria, fungi, and Acanthamoeba from 128 lenticules of 64 patients were cultured. A total of 132 lenticules from 93 patients were randomly assigned to the fresh group, -78 °C anhydrous glycerol preservation group (glycerol group), and 0.1% sodium dodecyl sulfate decellularization group (SDS group) in pairs and detected by immunohistochemistry, Western blot, transmission electron microscopy, transmittance, and nanoindentation.
