Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you up and running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, just a glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-refilling.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design lets you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also lets the robot to access low-profile furniture which makes it a great option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen in other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There's a wealth of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app, or via direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. cheap robot vacuum than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
