Could Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Be The Key To 2024's Resolving?
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. They have impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). what is it worth can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through a clean.

It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys or books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. automatic hoover is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well however this is something you'll have to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.

The device has an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surface areas. This includes corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction level and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it comes with a large selection of advanced features. However, it's important to note that it incurs regular costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. The vacuum also has an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which is equipped with an elastomer pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up pet hair. It was able to collect the majority of hair that shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some lovely jingles to indicated when it was about to start or finished its work.

Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a hassle if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base has a couple of buttons for control that let you manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle a child lock that is a great feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a hazard, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. This is a rare event however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
