Objective To assess the magnitude of mental health outcomes and associated factors among health care workers treating patients exposed to COVID-19 in China. Design, Settings, and Participants This cross-sectional, survey-based, region-stratified study collected demographic data and mental health measurements from 1257 health care workers in 34 hospitals from January 29, 2020, to February 3, 2020, in China. Health care workers in hospitals equipped with fever clinics or wards for patients with COVID-19 were eligible. Objective To determine whether barriers to care mediate the association between socioeconomic status (SES) and asthma-related emergency department (ED) visits. Design, Setting, and Participants This cohort study used data from the World Trade Center Health Registry, which comprises rescue and recovery workers and community members who worked, lived, studied or were otherwise present in downtown Manhattan, New York, during or immediately after the September 11, 2001, disaster. Data were matched to an administrative database of ED visits. Those who experienced an asthma-related ED visit and those who did not were compared in bivariate analysis. A mediation analysis was conducted to determine the role of barriers to care in the association between number of ED visits and SES. Exposurel diploma to those with at least a bachelor's degree. Deficiency of the HGD enzyme leads to tissue deposition of homogentisic acid (HGA), causing severe osteoarthropathies and cardiac valve degeneration. Although HGD is vital for the catabolism of tyrosine, which provides the basis for thyroid hormone synthesis, the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in alkaptonuria is unknown. Objective To assess thyroid structure and function in patients with alkaptonuria. Design, Setting, and Participants A single-center cohort study was conducted in a tertiary referral center including patients with alkaptonuria followed up for a median of 93 (interquartile range, 48-150) months between February 1, 2000, and December 31, 2018. Design, Setting, and Participants This cross-sectional study analyzed censuses of live emergency department and inpatient discharges for 11 US states from January 1, 2011, to December 31, 2012, as well as Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project national live discharge samples for January 1 to December 31, 2012, and January 1 to December 31, 2016, and corresponding Multiple Cause of Death census data. Censuses or national samples of all medically identified drug poisonings that were deliberately self-inflicted or of undetermined intent were identified using diagnosis and external cause codes.
