est that women and men can both benefit after GM repair. Men were older and had increased risk for associated lumbar pathology than women at the time of surgery. Men and women both experienced significant improvements in PROs and compared favorably in terms of clinical effectiveness at a minimum 2-year follow-up.
These results suggest that women and men can both benefit after GM repair. Men were older and had increased risk for associated lumbar pathology than women at the time of surgery. Men and women both experienced significant improvements in PROs and compared favorably in terms of clinical effectiveness at a minimum 2-year follow-up.The entire world is experiencing an unprecedented global health crisis and Spain has been one of the most heavily affected countries within Europe. Unexpected rapid changes and reorganization of medical services that occurred during the pandemic lead to an impact in the practice of neurorehabilitation. The idiosyncrasies typical of neurorehabilitation management, specially in acute facilities, that makes it susceptible as a vector of dissemination of Covid but also because of the need of finding new wards and intensive care units for Covid patients, the interventions in neurorehabilitation has suffered enormous changes. There is a need for rethinking the future to treat a new wave of patients with neurorehabilitation necessities such as those recovering from Covid 19 with neurological sequelae but also of those neurorehab patients who were unable to access the health system during the locke down period. This article is intended to invite to reflect on and discuss the redesign of our current neurorehabilitation plans after the experience on the Covid 19 pandemic.
Arthroscopic superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) was developed to restore shoulder superior stability, muscle balance, and function in patients with irreparable posterior-superior rotator cuff tears.
To assess the effects of concomitant subscapularis tendon tear, which may reduce glenohumeral stability and force coupling, on clinical outcomes of SCR for irreparable posterior-superior rotator cuff tears.
Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3.
In total, 193 patients with irreparable posterior-superior rotator cuff tears underwent arthroscopic SCR using fascia lata autograft between 2007 and 2015. 8-OH-DPAT They were allocated to 3 groups group 1, no subscapularis tear (160 patients); group 2, reparable subscapularis tear, which underwent arthroscopic repair (26 patients); and group 3, irreparable subscapularis tear (7 patients). American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scores, visual analog scale (VAS) score for pain, active shoulder range of motion (ROM), muscle strenndon tear is the best indication for arthroscopic SCR in patients with irreparable posterior-superior rotator cuff tendon tears.
The presence of subscapularis tendon tear affects clinical outcomes and complication rates after SCR. The reparability of the subscapularis affects superior glenohumeral stability; therefore, an intact subscapularis or reparable subscapularis tendon tear is the best indication for arthroscopic SCR in patients with irreparable posterior-superior rotator cuff tendon tears.Physically disabled children and young people (PDC&YP) face many challenges when participating in out-of-school activities. PDC&YP should have the same choices and opportunities as other C&YP to forge friendships locally and to access out-of-school activities. However, PDC&YP have fewer opportunities than their non-disabled peers due to challenges such as access, support, and suitable provision. This multi-method qualitative study examined the factors affecting participation of PDC&YP in out-of-school activities. The perspectives of PDC&YP and parents were sought using a range of data collection tools. These included interviews, focus groups, and creative focus groups with 13 PDC&YP and 19 parents. Play-based creative focus groups were specifically designed for PDC&YP aged 7 to 17 years. The study demonstrated that PDC&YP enjoy specialist disabled activities to meet others 'like them' but want more local opportunities to do this. Some PDC&YP and parents felt they were not disabled enough for 'disabled' activities but not able enough for mainstream. PDC&YP requiring personal care were a 'hidden' group who are at risk of missing out on experiences that they are entitled to. The study concludes by presenting the need to improve provision through disability awareness training and a co-ordinated partnership approach to be employed by the local authority to raise the profile of disability and 'bridge the gap' between service users and service providers. The social needs of children require the same focus and attention to aid their wellbeing and to enhance out-of-school lives.Individuals should strategically shift decision criteria when there are disproportionate likelihoods or consequences for falsely identifying versus missing target items. Despite being explicitly aware of the advantages for criterion shifting, people on average do not shift extremely, leading many theories to conclude that people are generally suboptimal at placing decision criteria. However, assessments of individual differences reveal that some people actually do criterion shift quite well while others fail to shift entirely. These individual differences may carry meaningful information about the nature and consistency of a person's decision-making strategies, but no studies have systematically assessed the stability of strategic criterion shifting within individuals over time. We assessed criterion shifting stability by administering test-retest recognition memory and visual detection tests where we induced decision biases through instruction, payoff, and base rate manipulations. Criterion shifting tendencies proved to be stable within and across decision domains regardless of the inducement. Individual differences in criterion shifting could not be explained by personality characteristics, metacognitive sensitivity, motivation, or performance on other cognitive tasks. Reports of confidence ratings, which are used to assess various criterion placements, showed no relationship to the extent of criterion shifting unless participants received instructions to make certain response types with high confidence only. Participants who inadequately shifted criteria still tended to set extreme criteria for reporting high confidence, suggesting that these individuals are capable of shifting to greater extents, but appear unwilling to do so. These findings demonstrate that strategic criterion shifting tendencies are a stable and uniquely individualistic cognitive trait. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved).
