The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He reviews and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through cleaning.
It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum for mopping it is important to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device has a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and effectively. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.
Another noteworthy feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. robot vacuum cleaners reviews can also set the number of passes it must make, which will determine how fast the device will move around your home. You can also disable the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rug.
This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of innovative features. It's crucial to keep in mind that it has periodic expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every three month.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants an organized home that doesn't require a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid option. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect the majority of hair our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or completing its task.
The biggest flaws were its simple app and the requirement to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it has some unique features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock, which doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.
The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you untangle it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
