In this article, I begin by outlining the qualities and attributes associated with experiences of mana, focusing particularly on the way the term 'mana' was used by C.G. Jung in his published work. I note that Jung associated mana with the accumulation and transfer of psychic energy (libido), with the appearance and appropriation of elemental fire, and by extension, with the metamorphic experience of constellating consciousness. In this context, informed by Jung's accounts and modes of expression, the term mana personality becomes a provisional designation for a recurrent dynamic of archetypal experiential configurations whose telos appears to be the reorientation of consciousness to its origin.In this paper, using my clinical work with a 3-year-old boy who lost his hearing when he was between 9 and 12 months old, and whose disability was only discovered when he was 22 months old, I will explore two issues of paramount technical importance when working with trauma. Firstly, it is crucial to create a boundary around the traumatic event, so that life before, during and after the trauma can be circumscribed and the traumatic event explored and hopefully understood and integrated. Secondly, it is of paramount importance to establish the level of developmental organization at the time of the trauma, especially in relation to the capacity to integrate bodily affects into mind. I will show how trauma and its vicissitudes are directly dependent on the person's capacity to resolve the splitting that trauma creates in the mind, and also the key role played by the use of metaphors in the process whereby trauma becomes thinkable and can therefore be integrated into the self.
Inherited epidermolysis bullosa (EB) is a genetic disorder characterized by skin fragility and unique oral features.

To provide (a) a complete review of the oral manifestations in those living with each type of inherited EB, (b) the current best practices for managing oral health care of people living with EB, (c) the current best practices on dental implant-based oral rehabilitation for patients with recessive dystrophic EB (RDEB), and (d) the current best practice for managing local anesthesia, principles of sedation, and general anesthesia for children and adults with EB undergoing dental treatment.

Systematic literature search, panel discussion including clinical experts and patient representatives from different centers around the world, external review, and guideline piloting.

This article has been divided into five chapters (i) general information on EB for the oral health care professional, (ii) systematic literature review on the oral manifestations of EB, (iii) oral health care and dental trndition. Understanding each subtype individually will help the professionals plan long-term treatment approaches.
Erenumab is a novel treatment modality with a relatively benign and safe side effect profile, currently approved for the prevention of migraine headache. We present 3 cases with chronic migraine who are cigarette smokers were prescribed erenumab, and developed an intense smoking-induced nausea which eventually led to smoking cessation.

A multicenter retrospective review of 3 cases with cigarette smoking, one of whom was also smoking marijuana, suffering from chronic migraine resistant to multiple preventive therapies was studied. All were prescribed monthly injections of erenumab 70mg. Response in terms of headache frequency and intensity and smoking habits was obtained through medical record review.

Out of 3 patients, 2 reported reduced headache frequency and intensity. All patients developed severe nausea while smoking cigarettes after their first dose of erenumab, leading to smoking cessation. One patient co-smoked marijuana, which did not result in nausea after being treated.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of severe nausea secondary to erenumab administration and smoking cigarettes, which finally resulted in complete cigarette smoking cessation. As such, further study is indicated on the benefit of erenumab and other calcitonin gene-related peptide antagonists in migraineurs who smoke to promote smoking cessation.

Though numerous resources describe surface anomalies in grave detection, few studies formally investigate the rate at which the surface anomalies return to a natural state; hence, the period the grave is detectable to observers. this website Understanding these processes can provide guidance as to when ground searches will be an effective strategy for locating graves. We studied three experimental graves and control plots in woodland at the Australian Facility for Taphonomic Experimental Research (Sydney, Australia) to monitor the rate at which surface anomalies change following disturbance. After three years, vegetation cover on all grave sites and control plots had steadily increased but remained substantially less than undisturbed surroundings. Soil anomalies (depressions and cracking) were more pronounced at larger grave sites versus the smaller grave and controls, with leaf litterfall rendering smaller graves difficult to detect beyond 20 months. Similar results were observed in two concurrent burial studies, except where accelerated revegetation appeared to be influenced by mummified remains. Extreme weather events such as heatwaves and heavy rainfall may prolong the detection window for grave sites by hindering vegetation establishment. Observation of grave-indicator vegetation, which exhibited abnormally strong growth 10 months after commencement, suggests that different surface anomalies may have different detection windows. Our findings are environment-specific, but the concepts are applicable globally.
