To analyze the changes in white matter tracts in preschool children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and the correlation between these changes and social communication deficits.

Diffuse tensor imaging was used to assess white matter integrity using tract-based spatial statistics in a sample of 50 right-handed children with ASD aged 2-6 years vis a reference sample of 46 typically developing children aged 2-6 years. We then correlated these significant different fiber tracts between groups with communication and social interaction scores using the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised Assessment (ADI-R) Scale.

We observed decreased fractional anisotropy (FA) in tracts including the left superior longitudinal fasciculus (SLF), the splenium of the corpus callosum (splCC), the left corticospinal tracts, and the left inferior longitudinal fasciculus (ILF) in children with ASD. Specifically, there was reduced white matter integrity of these tracts in the left cerebral hemisphere. In addition, we found that he splCC might be a substantial biomarker for children with ASD.
This study aimed to observe the curative effect of intravenous thrombolysis with alteplase in patients with acute ischemic stroke and minor trauma.

The data of 25 patients with minor trauma who were treated in our department from January to December 2018 were analyzed retrospectively (observation group), and during the same period, 25 thrombolytic patients were enrolled as the control group. Brain computed tomography (CT) was performed before and at three days after thrombolysis. NIHSS scores were recorded before thrombolysis and at one, three, and seven days after thrombolysis. Additionally, bleeding rate after thrombolysis and 90-day mRS scores were recorded.

The differences in 1-day, 3-day, and 7-day NIHSS scores and 90-day mRS scores between the two groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05). The bleeding rate was higher in the observation group than in the control group, and this was statistically significant (P<0.05).

Intravenous thrombolysis with alteplase has a good curative effect in acute ischemic stroke patients with minor trauma. The bleeding rate was significantly higher than in the control group, but there was no significant difference in the long-term curative effect.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum total bilirubin (TBil) level and early neurological deterioration (END) in patients with acute ischemic stroke of large artery atherosclerosis.

In this retrospective study, a total of 291 patients with acute ischemic stroke were enrolled. The demographic and laboratory dates were collected. Stroke severity had been assessed using the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Multivariable logistic regression was used to examine the independent association between TBil and END.

Approximately 63 (21.6%) of the patients were diagnosed with END within the first seven days. The proportion of hypertension, diabetes mellitus (DM) and previous stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA) was significant greater in the lowest quartile (<9.8 μmol/l) of TBil. The proportion of patients with an elevated TBil levels was significantly lower in the END group than in the non-END group. After controlling for covariates, the first quartiles (<9.8 μmol/l) of TBil were still associated with END. In addition, an increased level of CRP and age were also associated with an increased risk of END.

The TBil levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction may be a useful biomarker for the prediction of END.

Efforts have been made in assessing efficacy and tolerability to various antidepressants, but understanding personalized chances of stability to medication switching sequence is still inconclusive. This study aimed to identify naturalistic switching patterns of medication in stratifying MDD patients.

MDD patients were stratified based on treatment difficulty evaluated with the "Treatment Resistance to Antidepressants Evaluation Scale for Unipolar Depression" (TRADES). The duration of the time of diagnoses until the final switch to another class of antidepressants was used as prediction of unstable to drug therapy. ROC analysis was used to determine the cutoff values. A continuous temporal events function from the visual analytic tool was employed to perform patterns of switching between distinct pharmacological class such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).

TRADES scores of 4.5 and not-switching times of 12.5 months were used as cu medication sequence is likely required for clinical application, the results provide a baseline for such studies.
Paroxetine, fluoxetine and duloxetine users were mostly stable among MDD patients in Taiwan with various stability and difficulty to treatments. Although responsiveness to specific medication sequence is likely required for clinical application, the results provide a baseline for such studies.
ShenmaYizhi decoction (SMYZD) is an effective prescription of traditional Chinese medicine used to treat vascular dementia (VD). Modern research methods have identified its active ingredients clearly as gastrodin, ferulic acid, ginsenosides, and β-sitosterol. Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion is a driving factor or risk factor for VD, which leads to the disturbance of mitochondrial structure and function.

To observe whether SMYZD improves cognitive impairment by improving mitochondrial structure and function.

Forty adult rats with vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) caused by the bilateral ligation of common carotid arteries were divided into four groups randomly, including the model group, donepezil group, and low-dose and high-dose SMYZD groups, with 10 rats in each group. Additionally, a sham group was established with 10 rats as the control group. The treatment groups were administered donepezil and two different dosages of SMYZD. buy LLY-283 The donepezil group was administered 0.45 mg/kg/d donepezil, and the SMYZ-L group was administered 2.
