nd a drop of 20 µl of spore suspension (106 spores/ml) was placed on each wound independently. Meanwhile 10 fruits inoculated with sterile water were treated as controls. The fruits were incubated at 27°C with 90% relative humidity for 10 days. Inoculated fruits exhibited symptoms similar to the original infection. No visible lesions appeared on control fruit. C. gloeosporioides was successfully reisolated from the inoculated fruit, confirming Koch's postulates. Anthracnose of banana is known to be caused by C. musae, C. gloeosporioides, C. siamense, C. tropicale, C. chrysophilum, C. theobromicola, and C. scovillei (Kumar et al. 2017; Peres et al. 2001; Vieira et al. 2017; Zakaria et al. 2009; Zhou et al. 2017). To our knowledge, this is first report of anthracnose of banana caused by C. gloeosporioides in Pakistan. The new disease primarily reduces the quality and yield of Banana. Effective measures should be taken to manage this disease.Vitis amurensis Rupr. Piceatannol in vitro (Amur grape) is a wild grape genetic resource widely distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia, among other places in China (Song et al. 2009) and the Russian Far East and Korean Peninsula. In September 2018, brown rot symptoms were observed at ripening stage on the fruits of a 5-year-old Amur grapevine germplasm resources nursery of the cultivar 'Beibinghong' and a few Russian resources in Zuojia Town, Jilin City, Jilin Province, China. The diseased fruit surface became brown with soft rot and produced buff to brownish-grey sporodochia with conidia. Around 180 plants of 'Beibinghong' were examined which had 8 % incidence. Forty five samples were collected from symptomatic fruits of 15 randomly sampled 'Beibinghong' grape clusters, cut into 5-mm2 pieces of diseased tissue, surface sterilized with 1% NaOCl for 2 min, rinsed three times with sterile water, dried on sterilized filter paper, and plated on potato dextrose agar (PDA). Thirteen monosporic isolates were obl and the experiment was repeated three times. After a 10-day incubation, typical symptoms of brown rot developed on inoculated fruits, while control fruits were symptomless. The fungus was consistently re-isolated only from diseased fruits and showed the same morphological characteristics as the original isolates, thus fulfilling Koch's postulates. This is the first report of M. polystroma on V. amurensis in China. The resulting disease decreases fruit quality and yield, necessitating the development of effective control measures. Background This meta-analysis explored the prognostic and clinical value of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D, 25(OH)D, levels in previously untreated lymphoma. Materials & methods PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases were searched for eligible studies. Summary effect estimates and 95% CIs were pooled using random-effects or fixed-effects models. Results Twelve studies with 4139 patients were included. Low level of serum 25(OH)D was associated with inferior progression-free survival (hazard ratio [HR] 2.06; 95% CI 1.82-2.32) and overall survival (HR 1.94; 95% CI 1.71-2.19), advanced disease (odds ratio [OR] 1.52; 95% CI 1.09-2.13) and elevated lactate dehydrogenase (OR 1.84; 95% CI 1.08-3.15). Conclusions Low level of serum 25(OH)D is a prognostic risk factor for newly diagnosed lymphoma.Oxycodone is a semisynthetic μ- and κ-opioid receptor with agonist with a broad scope of use including postoperative analgesia as well as control of neuropathic and cancer pain. Advantages over other opioids include prolonged duration of action, greater potency than morphine and lack of histamine release or ceiling effect. Individual responses to oxycodone can vary due to genetic differences. This review article aims to summarize the oxycodone literature and provide context on its pharmacogenomics and pharmacokinetics. The evidence for clinical effect of genetic polymorphisms on oxycodone is conflicting. There is stronger evidence linking polymorphic genetic enzymes CYP2D6 and CYP3A with therapeutic outcomes. Further, research is needed to discern all of oxycodone's metabolites and their contribution to the overall analgesic effect.Tumors are equipped with a highly complex machinery of interrelated events so as to adapt to hazardous conditions, preserve a growing cell mass and thrive at the site of metastasis. Tumor cells display metastatic propensity toward specific organs where the stromal milieu is appropriate for their further colonization. Effective colonization relies on the plasticity of tumor cells in adapting to the conditions of the new area by reshaping their epigenetic landscape. Breast cancer cells, for instance, are able to adopt brain-like or epithelial/osteoid features in order to pursue effective metastasis into brain and bone, respectively. The aim of this review is to discuss recent insights into organ tropism in tumor metastasis, outlining potential strategies to address this driver of tumor aggressiveness. This study analyzed the surgical outcomes after initial implementation of a cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) program in government settings in India. Methods Ovarian cancer patients undergoing cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC from May 2015 to April 2019 were identified from a prospectively maintained database. Treatment characteristics and surgical outcomes were analyzed. Results The study identified 101 patients. The mean peritoneal cancer index (PCI) was 7 ± 6, with higher PCI scores in primary and recurrent cases. Major morbidities were recorded in 24.7% of patients. High PCI score, completeness of cytoreduction and major morbidities were independent predictors of overall survival in multivariate analysis. Conclusion The application of HIPEC in limited-resource settings is feasible with acceptable major morbidities. This program should receive similar priority in government systems.Aim Here, we established a reliable strategy for generation and characterization of targeted radiolabeled exosomes for the detection of HER2-positive cells quantitatively. Materials & methods Targeted exosomes (T-exos) were radiolabeled by two different radiotracers, [99mTc]Tc-HMPAO or [111In]In-oxine. The labeling efficiency and stability were assessed using exosome exclusive spin columns. HER2-positive and -negative cells were treated with [111In]In-oxine-exosomes after 3 and 24 h. Results [111In]In-oxine labeling did not change the binding ability and general features of the exosomes. With [111In]In-oxine, 70% labeling efficiency and 78% radiochemical stability over 24 h were achieved. [111In]In-oxine-T-exos showed greater uptake by HER2-positive cells compared with untargeted exosomes. Conclusion [111In]In-oxine-T-exos could potentially be used as an effective imaging tool for HER2 expression.
