Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's avoided.
remote hoover on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood, though we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its path automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-refilling.
The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by excessive back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. remote hoover has several features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a fantastic feature as it stops the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful method to keep your home hygienic for longer.
There's a wealth of options available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
