Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills or stains) in one session without having to swap out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its affordable price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track battery life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is easy to use and understand and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have many features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. visit website could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a wealth of settings available which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. These can be set via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, sporting a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels robust and well built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
