Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
While robots can't substitute for a conventional vacuum in removing ground-in debris such as metal screws and pieces of orzo pasta, they're excellent at sweeping dust, crumbs and pet hair. The best models are equipped with intelligent navigation systems, which can help them avoid cords, toys and other household obstacles.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that has several smart features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is among the most impressive features we've seen in a robot vacuum. It works well on carpets as well as hard floors. The app will guide you through the entire process. It is also easy to use and set up. Another notable feature is the ability to go back to the spot where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 mins on one cleaning, before running out of battery.
The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums we tested comes with a self-emptying bin that automatically dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. The i3+ EVO can be kept from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be manually empty at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's internal dust bin holds 2.4L of waste that is enough to get it through several cleaning sessions before you have to replace it.
The i3+ EVO, just like the i7 uses state-ofthe-art floor-tracking sensors that create maps. It also lets you navigate through neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 has the capacity to store multiple maps. The i7's map is used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not for the i3+ EVO.
Although the i3+ EVO is better at picking up dirt and debris from surfaces than the other robovacs that we tested but it's not the best when it comes to cleaning edges and corners. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being relatively quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and it became stuck on cords and toys during our testing.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
If you're looking to expand your robot vacuum collection or are just starting out, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It offers a sleek design with powerful navigation and useful automation at a reasonable cost. It's the most efficient pound-for pound model currently available and even matches Roborock's higher-priced models in many ways.
This robot does an excellent job cleaning bare floors and its avoidance technology helps it steer clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. robotvacuummops excels on carpets and scores the highest score on our navigation tests. It's only downside is that it's louder than other models and doesn't do as well in our satisfaction of the owner and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin of 770ml which means you don't have to empty it as frequently as some other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also impressive when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots that we tested. If the battery is depleted it returns to its dock and automatically recharges, before starting cleaning where it left off. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is among the first robots we've seen incorporate 3D mapping. This along with other advances, helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. You can schedule cleanings and create no-go zones. You can also check the battery status. The app is simple to use, however it doesn't support Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its website's footnote in early November to reflect the fact that this feature has been delayed until 2025. HomeKit isn't compatible with several other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
The TP-Link Tapo R30 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is a fantastic option if you're looking for a vacuum that is able to mop and is affordable. It comes with a plethora of features at a reasonable price and features a stylish design. It is possible to control the device with different buttons on the machine or via the app, and even use voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container is able to automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus is a excellent vacuum cleaner that can handle standard messes. It can also be used to lightly mop on hard floors. It comes with mopping cloths and a replacement sweeper brush, and a HEPA filter. It can be used in conjunction with a smart home hub, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for easy voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to set up and is connected to a variety of flooring surfaces by using the automatic mode. This guarantees the most effective cleaning results for each room and floor type.
Three cleaning modes are available to fit your needs. The vacuuming mode makes use of the smart sensor to detect of obstacles like stairs, furniture, and edges. The mopping mode is used to clean the floor automatically or to remove liquid spills and stubborn stains. A third option allows you to combine both features for a thorough and thorough cleaning.
With a powerful suction and 3 settings for dry mopping, TP-Link RV30 Plus quickly picks up pet hair, dust and other crumbs from all types of flooring. It can clean carpets without damaging it because of specially designed mops.
In its first mapping run, TP-Link RV30 Plus scans your home and stores it with its dual navigation system that consists of LiDAR and Gyro. You can alter the map within the app and split or merge rooms based on your preference. You can also create no-go zones and virtual walls to stop the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas that you don't want it to enter.
4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is one of best fully-featured machines for flooring made of hard wood. It has a high-tech navigation system that does an outstanding job of mapping your home's layout, even across multiple floors. The base station is well-designed and can automate cleaning to a great extent. It is a great obstacle avoidance system and navigation.
This model uses an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map out your home and create efficient cleaning routes. The iMop awed us with its analysis of coverage and navigation efficiency and was also good at eliminating obstacles, like furniture. It is also able to find its way back to the base station if it is unable to recharge its batteries during cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode allows you to clean a certain area of your floor. It can also be manually programmed to follow a specific direction. This is great if you have narrow hallways or stairs. It was capable of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning evaluation however it had a difficult time with longer pile carpets and rugs. It is possible to set it up to raise the mop pad automatically when it comes in contact with carpet. This is a great feature for those who wish to avoid having to mop their carpets.
The iMop comes with an onboard dust bin as well as an water tank that is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session. The dust bin can hold up to 2.5 liters and needs to be cleaned every two cleaning cycles. The water tank is capable of handling more than a dozen mopping sessions before running out. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than an average robot vacuum, which can be a major selling point for busy families.
The iMop's smartphone app is simple to use and comes with a variety of options for setting up. It comes with a variety of suction modes, mopping settings and scheduling. It also lets you create virtual walls and no-go zones so that the robot isn't able to wander into areas that aren't safe for it. Additionally, the app lets you view your iMop's status as well as error messages.
