Beyond fingerprinting: Selecting predictive connectomes around reputable connectomes.

The research goal is to give a clearer idea of the broad directions and paradigm shifts in Twitter usage discourse over the years. Its major goal is to examine thematic trends, theoretical framework and methodology that have characterized the discourse. Sixty relevant articles were identified, coded and content-analyzed. Findings revealed that dominant themes include stakeholder perceptions of communication strategies, social network sites, dynamics of global pandemic (i.e Covid-19 pandemic) and corporate reputation. Also, experiment, case study and survey are the dominant research methods that characterize research in this discourse. Findings also revealed large domination of the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) and the Image Repair Theory. However, research in this area lacks significant empirical evidence from Africa and Nigeria in particular, where the global pandemic seems to be a recurring phenomenon. The majority of the reviewed journal articles were conducted in the Western clime, with little attention on Africa. Scholarship needs to move beyond this point to provide a holistic and balanced view on the crisis by exploring cases in Africa and particularly, in Nigeria. This gap will provide an opportunity for understanding the global pandemic (i.e. Covid-19) dynamics in Africa and will further determine whether findings can be consistent across the world.The investigation and comparative analysis of Chopped Strand Mat Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester (CSMGFRP) composite laminates was conducted. The laminate samples for the experiment were first exposed to diverse X-rays intensity rates at 6 mAs interval before test under cryogenic temperature. The generated values for tensile properties like young's modulus, strength, force, energy and elongation values were all measured and noted. The tensile modulus presented 43.8% decrease at the first 12 mAs exposure before it started increasing in the order of 30.3%, 6.3% and 12.3% respectively. Also, a science laboratory (SciLab) numerical evaluation of the material's tensile young's modulus was carried out and the obtained values compared with the experimental result to ascertain the level of relationship between the two approaches. It was observed that all the tested tensile properties were not consistent in the line of material strength depreciation values, apart from tensile young's modulus. The latter is consistent, but when considered with numerical model; their values became inconsistent like the former. However, when Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) for both approaches (experimental and SciLab numerical evaluations) were checked using t-test for pair comparisons, the data sets produced a computed t-value of 4.51. The obtained t-value and the critical t-value of 2.57 for 5% level of significance and 5-degree of freedom were compared, and it was noticed that the obtained t-value was higher than the critical t-value which indicated that the result was significant at the 5% level. Thus the null hypothesis is rejected which suggests that both approaches were relevant to tensile properties investigation at cryogenic temperature.
Ramadan fasting creates changes in lifestyle, causing biochemical alterations that affect glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity. This study aims to assess the impact of Ramadan fasting on glycemic control and Fetuin-A, a glycoprotein that affects insulin resistance, in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

This was a prospective study done among 37 patients with T2DM from Internal Medicine Polyclinic in a hospital in Jakarta, Indonesia. Anthropometric data as well as Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG), and Fetuin-A levels of the subjects were measured in three time points before, during, and after Ramadan fasting. A bivariate analysis was done to see the effect of Ramadan fasting on those parameters.

Ramadan fasting reduced Fetuin-A levels [median (minimum-maximum), 5.35 (2.91-7.81) vs. 3.22 (2.35-5.60) mg/dl; p = 0.039] four weeks after the end of Ramadan compared to pre-Ramadan. After two weeks of Ramadan fasting, we found a significant reduction in body weight, BMI, FBG, and HbA1c levels which rebounded to baseline level after Ramadan.

Drawing on analytical tools from science and technology studies, reproductive studies and ignorance studies, I will show how this obstetric drug came to be widely used after significant knowledge/ignorance battles had been fought during heated public and medical controversy in the 1970s. Different visions of the 'knowns', the 'unknowns' and 'know-how' came into conflict in this context, supported by a series of moral, political and feminist justifications that were often at odds with one another. While the defenders of natural birth clashed with feminists, created ambiguities around conceptions of the maternal body, and struggled to produce large-scale clinical knowledge on the risks of EA, the defenders of EA put forward technological promises and biomedical modernization as a means to outstrip the knowledge wars.
