Monensin depresses mobile or portable proliferation and intrusion within ovarian cancer through improving MEK1 SUMOylation.
ation attendants.BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Extensive use of Lambda-cyhalothrin (LTC), a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide, has been associated with serious health problems to the non-target organisms including mammals. The present study investigated the protective effect of naringenin (NGN), an antioxidant flavonoid, against the toxicity induced LTC in the liver of male rats. MATERIALS AND METHODS Five groups of rats were assigned as follows; control group, LTC group (6.12 mg kg-1, 1/10 LD50), LTC-NGN group (6.12 mg kg-1 LTC and 50 mg kg-1 NGN), NGN-LTC group (50 mg kg-1 NGN and 6.12 mg kg-1 LTC) and NGN group (50 mg kg-1). Doses were administrated orally for 21 consecutive days. RESULTS Administration of LTC induced liver damage as indicated by the increase in the activities of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase and in the level of total bilirubin in serum. LTC also induced a significant elevation in the levels of serum total lipids, total cholesterol, triglycerides and low-density lipoproteins while high-density lipoproteins decreased. Furthermore, LTC significantly disturbed the oxidant/antioxidant balance in the liver as shown by the elevation in lipid peroxidation, lipid hydroperoxides, protein carbonyl content and conjugated dienes with a concomitant inhibition in the major antioxidants such as reduced glutathione and the activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione-S-transferase. Both post-treatment and pre-treatment with NGN significantly modulated the LTC-induced hepatotoxicity and oxidative stress in rat's liver and pretreatment was found to be more effective in improving most of the studied parameters in both serum and liver tissue. CONCLUSION NGN could be used as a safe dietary supplement to protect against the toxicity and oxidative stress associated with the use of LTC.BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Vermicomposting is a green technique used to produce organic compost from organic waste with the aid of specific earthworm species. The resulting compost is rich in nutrients that can improve plant health and fertility. This study was conducted to produce organic compost using a developed vermicomposting technique. And that is to enhance and increase the exchangeable nutritional content in the soil for utilization in sustainable agriculture. MATERIALS AND METHODS The experiment was carried out with Eisenia fetida worms in a treatment technique using sugarcane straw, remnants of garden tree leaves, kitchen wastes and cow manure. The physiochemical parameters, namely temperature, moisture, acidity, electrical conductivity and 10 different nutrients, were assessed in vermicompost samples and garden soil sample (without earthworms). RESULTS The results revealed higher N, C and P content in the vermicompost than in the garden soil sample. CONCLUSION This study confirms that vermicompost has a high nutrient value and can be considered a promising method for safely disposing organic waste, improving crop production and achieving long-term food security.BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a free living bacterium in widely different areas such as plants, soil, water and other moist locations. It is pathogenic to plants and humans. P. aeruginosa causes several disease symptoms to plants such as wet rot and curved leaves. The virulent bacterial viruses of P. aeruginosa were found to be of widespread occurrence in nature and isolated from widely different sources. Bacterial viruses were applied to control pathogenic bacteria in different fields and successfully. Therefore, this work aimed to study the different characteristics of P. aeruginosa lytic phage isolates. Moreover, the bio-control of P. aeruginosa by lytic phage isolates was also studied. MATERIAL AND METHODS Different physical and molecular characteristics were assayed and determined of P. aeruginosa lytic bacteriophages. Also, the effect of phage isolates on P. aeruginosa as a bio-control under lab condition was studied. RESULTS Pseudomonas aeruginosa pathogenic bacterium was isolated from a sewage water sample. Two lytic bacteriophages specific to P. aeruginosa were isolated from same sewage water sample and designated Pa1 and Pa2. Both phage isolates (Pa1 and Pa2) found to be stable in 90°C and different pH low and high levels. The total count of P. aeruginosa decreased after 48 h in broth treated with lytic phages. RAPD-PCR amplification was indicated that the two phage isolates (Pa1 and Pa2) are belonging to two different phage types. CONCLUSION The results of this study indicated that both lytic phage isolates could be used as a biological control agents against the plant pathogen P. aeuroginosa.BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Saline soils are restrictive factors to agriculture in arid and semi-arid regions, plant growth and productivity. Thus, it was important to consider how, nano-zinc oxide or bulk zinc oxide alleviates the oxidative salt stress in the presence of Arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) fungi by two wheat cultivars (Sids 13 and Sakha 94). MATERIALS AND METHODS A field experiment was carried out during two winter successive seasons to study the beneficial role of nano-zinc oxide or bulk zinc oxide with different concentrations (5 and 10 mg L-1) in enhancing growth, some biochemical and physiological of two wheat cultivars under saline soil. 2-Hydroxybenzylamine supplier RESULTS Soaking both wheat cultivars with nano-zinc oxide or bulk zinc oxide in the presence of AM improved growth parameters. All treatments increased significantly photosynthetic pigments, IAA, phenols contents, organic antioxidant enzyme activities and significant decrease in lipid peroxidation. some changes are observed in protein patterns, so several proteins were disappear, but others were selectively improved and synthesis of the new groups of protein was formed, some of these responses were observed through the effect of nano-zinc oxide or bulk zinc oxide and AM. CONCLUSION Nano-ZnO (10 mg L-1) in the presence of AM was the most effective treatments on both cultivars. Results showed superiority of Sakha 94 cultivar in most growth parameters and biochemical aspects than Sids 13 cultivar.
