Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't so good at removing particles such as metal screws or pieces of pasta. But they're great at brushing away pet hair, dust and crumbs. The best models have smart navigation technology, which can help them avoid cords, toys, and other obstacles in the household.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that comes with a number smart features to make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is among the most useful features we've encountered in a robotic vacuum. It works well on both carpets and hard floors. The app walks you through the entire process. It is also easy to use and set up. Another impressive feature is its ability to return to the spot where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 mins on one cleaning, before running out of battery.
The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums we tested has a self-emptying bin that automatically dumps debris into an external dirt compartment located on its charging base once it is fully filled. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it must be manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L which is enough to last through four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor-tracking sensors to create maps. It can also allow you to navigate through neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The i7's map is used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not for the i3+ EVO.
The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing debris from the surface compared to some other robovacs that we have looked at, but it's not the best in cleaning corners and edges. It is also less gentle on furniture despite being relatively silent. It moved chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and got stuck on cords and toys while testing.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice, whether you are expanding your collection of robot vacuums, or just getting started. It packs serious power, advanced navigation, and handy automation into a slick design for a reasonable price. best affordable robot vacuum 's the most efficient pound-for pound model currently available and even beats Roborock's higher-priced models in several ways.
This robot does a great job of cleaning floors with no dust and its avoidance technology helps it stay clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. It also excels on carpets, and earns a high score for our navigation tests. The only issue is that it's more raucous than the other models we test and doesn't perform as well in our owners satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin of 770ml, which means that you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also impressive when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. When the battery is running low, it will automatically return to its dock, where it recharges and then resumes cleaning where it was when it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and also use voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is one of the first robots we've seen incorporate 3D mapping. This along with other advances made it perform extremely well in our vacuuming tests and mopping test. You can schedule cleanings or set up no-go zones. You can also view the status of your battery. The app is easy to use, but it does not support Apple HomeKit. The feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to indicate that this feature will be delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with several other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
If you are looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that is able to mop and is affordable, the TP Link Tapo RV30 Plus is the best option. It features a sleek design and amazing features for the price. You can control it using the buttons on the device using the app, or even with voice commands. The device is powered by batteries and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus is a great vacuum cleaner for standard messes. It can also be used to lightly mop on hard floors. It comes with a replacement sweeping brush and mopping cloth, aswell with a HEPA-filter. It can be used in conjunction with a smart home hub, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for easy voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to set up and can be connected to a variety of flooring surfaces by using the automatic mode. This guarantees that the best results are achieved for every room and flooring.
You can choose from three cleaning options to meet your needs. The vacuuming mode cleanses the entire room and utilizes the sensor's smart technology to detect edges furniture, stairs, and other obstacles. The mopping mode can be used to sweep the floor in a systematic manner or to remove the stubborn stains and liquid spills. You can combine both functions to get an efficient and thorough cleaning.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus comes with a powerful suction, 3 settings for dry mopping, and can quickly remove dust, pet hairs, crumbs, and other debris from any flooring type. It can also clean carpets without damaging them due to the specially designed mop.
In the initial mapping run the TP-Link RV30 Plus scans and saves the home's layout using its LiDAR and Gyro dual navigation system. The map can be edited within the app and you can join or divide rooms however you prefer. You can also create no-go zones and virtual walls to prevent the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas you don't want it be in.
4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is among the best fully-featured robots for flooring made of hard wood. It has a high-tech navigation system that does a great job of mapping your home's layout and even across several floors. And the well-designed base station almost fully automates the cleaning process. It is a great obstacle avoidance system and navigation.
This model makes use of a dToF internal LiDAR sensor to map your home, creating efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was highly rated for its accuracy and navigation. It also did an excellent job in avoiding obstacles like furniture. It also finds its way to the base station in case it runs out of batteries during cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode allows you to clean a particular area on your floor. It can also be programmed manually to follow a certain path. This is great if you have narrow stairs or hallways. In our carpet cleaning test, it performed well cleaning carpets. However, it struggled to clean rugs and carpets with thick piles. It is also able to automatically raise the mop pad once it comes into contact with carpet, which is a fantastic feature if you want to avoid mowing your carpets.
The iMop has an onboard dust bin as well as a water tank that it empties and refills at the end of each cleaning session. The dust bin that is onboard can hold up to 2.5 liters of debris and is only required to be emptying it every few cleaning cycles. The water tank is capable of handling more than a dozen mopping sessions before it is empty. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the average robot vacuum, which can be a big selling point for busy families.
The iMop smartphone app is user-friendly and comes with a variety of configuration options. It has various suction settings, mopping settings and scheduling. It allows you to set up virtual walls, no-go zones and other limitations to ensure that the robot won't wander off into prohibited areas. In addition, the application provides access to your iMop's status as well as errors messages.
