However, studies on the evolution and genetic breeding potential of guava are hindered by the lack of a reference genome. Here, we present a chromosome-level genomic assembly of guava using PacBio sequencing and Hi-C technology. We found that the genome assembly size was 443.8 Mb with a contig N50 of ~15.8 Mb. We annotated a total of 25 601 genes and 193.2 Mb of repetitive sequences for this genome. Comparative genomic analysis revealed that guava has undergone a recent whole-genome duplication (WGD) event shared by all species in Myrtaceae. In addition, through metabolic analysis, we determined that the L-galactose pathway plays a major role in ascorbic acid biosynthesis in guava fruits. Moreover, the softening of fruits of guava may result from both starch and cell wall degradation according to analyses of gene expression profiles and positively selected genes. Our data provide a foundational resource to support molecular breeding of guava and represent new insights into the evolution of soft, fleshy fruits in Myrtaceae.Winter geometrid moths exhibit sexual dimorphism in wing length and female-specific flightlessness. Female-specific flightlessness in insects is an interesting phenomenon in terms of sexual dimorphism and reproductive biology. In the winter geometrid moth, Protalcis concinnata (Wileman), adult females have short wings and adult males have fully developed wings. Although the developmental process for wing reduction in Lepidoptera is well studied, little is known about the morphology and the developmental pattern of short-winged flightless morphs in Lepidoptera. To clarify the precise mechanisms and developmental processes that produce short-winged morphs, we performed morphological and histological investigations of adult and pupal wing development in the winter geometrid moth P. concinnata. Our findings showed that (a) wing development in both sexes is similar until larval-pupal metamorphosis, (b) the shape of the sexually dimorphic wings is determined by the position of the bordering lacuna (BL), (c) the BL is positioned farther inward in females than in males, and (d) after the short pupal diapause period, the female pupal wing epithelium degenerates to approximately two-thirds its original size due to cell death. After application of exclusion criteria, smoothed centiles conditional on gestational age were obtained by a two-step process (i) finding the best model within four response distributions using Bayesian information criteria, and (ii) selecting the best model among the response distributions based on test-dataset global deviance.

Three-centre randomized clinical trial using a parallel design with two groups experimental and control.

Study to take place in the orthopaedic department of three children hospital of the Montreal region starting in 2019. Children, from 7-17years old, requiring bone pins and/or suture removal procedures will be recruited. The intervention group (N=94) will receive a virtual reality game (Dreamland), whereas the control group (N=94) will receive a tablet with video games. The primary outcomes will be both the mean self-reported pain score measured by the Numerical Rating Scale and mean anxiety score, measured by the Child Fear Scale. Recalls of pain and anxiety will be measured 1week after the procedure using the same scales. We aim to recruit 188 children to achieve a power of 80% with a significance level (alpha) of 5%.

While multiple pharmacological methods have previously been tested for children, no studies have evaluated the impact of immersive virtual reality distraction for pain and anxiety management in the orthopaedic setting.

Improved pain management can be achieved using virtual reality during medical procedures for children. This method is innovative, non-pharmacological, adapted to the hospital setting, and user-friendly.

To undertake a scoping review of the literature exploring the impact of clinical leadership in advanced practice roles in relation to patient, staff and organisational outcomes.

An increasing number of publications as well as job specifications have identified clinical leadership as a cornerstone of advanced practice roles. However, it is unclear whether embedding clinical leadership in such roles has led to improvements in patient, staff or organisational outcomes. Therefore, identifying the extent to which clinical leadership in advanced practice roles relates to patient, staff and organisational outcomes is needed.

A scoping review examining the relationship between clinical leadership in advanced practice roles and health care outcomes. Searching in SCOPUS, PubMed, Psychinfo and CINAHL Plus and Web of Science identified 765 potential articles. Independent selection, data extraction tabulation of findings and analysis were completed.

Seven studies were identified that met the inclusion criteria. Only studies reporting on nurses in advanced practice roles were included; no studies were identified that reported on the advanced practice roles of allied health professionals.
