al discrimination, and sexual orientation-related stigma may be needed for Asian American adolescents.
This study found significant increases in rates of suicide plan among Asian American adolescents who were sexual minorities identified by sexual identity and sexual contact together. These findings suggest that suicide screening needs to inquire about sexual minority status in terms of sexual identity and sex of sexual contact when identifying Asian American adolescents who are at risk for suicidal behaviors. Culturally relevant suicide-prevention programs addressing unique risk and protective factors, racial discrimination, and sexual orientation-related stigma may be needed for Asian American adolescents.
There is a scientific and operational need to define objective measures of exposure to low-level overpressure (LLOP) and concussion-like symptoms among persons with specialized occupations.
To evaluate serum levels of neurotrauma biomarkers and their association with concussion-like symptoms reported by LLOP-exposed military and law enforcement personnel who are outwardly healthy and cleared to perform duties.
This retrospective cohort study, conducted from January 23, 2017, to October 21, 2019, used serum samples and survey data collected from healthy, male, active-duty military and law enforcement personnel assigned to operational training at 4 US Department of Defense and civilian law enforcement training sites. Personnel aged 18 years or older with prior LLOP exposure but no diagnosed traumatic brain injury or with acute blast exposure during sampling participated in the study. Serum samples from 30 control individuals were obtained from a commercial vendor.
Serum levels of glial fibrillary acidicely. A total of 26 participants (34%) reported prior concussion. Amyloid β-42 levels were associated with ear ringing (F1,72 = 7.40; P = .008) and memory problems (F1,72 = 9.20; P = .003).
The findings suggest that long-term LLOP exposure acquired during occupational training may be associated with serum levels of neurotrauma biomarkers. Assessment of biomarkers and concussion-like symptoms among personnel considered healthy at the time of sampling may be useful for military occupational medicine risk management.

Additional options are needed for treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among veterans.
To determine whether group loving-kindness meditation is noninferior to group cognitive processing therapy for treatment of PTSD.
This randomized clinical noninferiority trial assessed PTSD and depression at baseline, posttreatment, and 3- and 6-month follow-up. Veterans were recruited from September 24, 2014, to February 5, 2018, from a large Veternas Affairs medical center in Seattle, Washington. A total of 184 veteran volunteers who met Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Fifth Edition) criteria for PTSD were randomized. Data collection was completed November 28, 2018, and data analyses were conducted from December 10, 2018, to November 5, 2019.
Each intervention comprised 12 weekly 90-minute group sessions. Loving-kindness meditation (n = 91) involves silent repetition of phrases intended to elicit feelings of kindness for oneself and others. Cognitive processing therapy (n = 93) in depressive symptoms was greater for loving-kindness meditation than for cognitive processing therapy.

Self-harm and suicidal behavior are associated with substantial morbidity and mortality among children and adolescents. The comparative performance of psychotherapies for suicidality is unclear because few head-to-head clinical trials have been conducted.
To compare the efficacy of psychotherapies for the treatment of self-harm and suicidality among children and adolescents.
Four major bibliographic databases (PubMed, MEDLINE, PsycINFO, and Embase) were searched for clinical trials comparing psychotherapy with control conditions from inception to September 2020.
Randomized clinical trials comparing psychotherapies for suicidality and/or self-harm with control conditions among children and adolescents were included after a blinded review by 3 independent reviewers (A.B., M.P., and J.W.).
The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) reporting guideline was followed for data abstraction, and the Cochrane risk of bias tool was used to evaluate study-level risk of bias.lities appear to be acceptable and efficacious for reducing self-harm and suicidality among children and adolescents, methodological issues and high risk of bias prevent a consistent estimate of their comparative performance.
Although some psychotherapeutic modalities appear to be acceptable and efficacious for reducing self-harm and suicidality among children and adolescents, methodological issues and high risk of bias prevent a consistent estimate of their comparative performance.Mechanical thrombectomy as a treatment for large vessel occlusion to achieve rapid revascularization is supported in the literature.1-3 The presenting symptoms will localize to functions of the ischemic area. H-Cys(Trt)-OH clinical trial The middle cerebral artery (MCA) supplies areas of the frontal, temporal, and parietal cortices, as well as the basal ganglia. Occlusion of the MCA will present with contralateral hemiplegia, sensory loss, and, if the dominant hemisphere is involved, language deficits. We present a right-hand-dominant 79-yr-old female with right MCA syndrome-her last known well time was 1.5 h prior to presentation. Her NIH (National Institutes of Health) Stroke Scale was 16, most notable for left hemiplegia. Although the patient presented early in the clinical time course, as part of our institution protocol, a computed tomography (CT) head, CT perfusion, and CT angiogram (CTA) were performed. CT head did not demonstrate acute hemorrhage, so she received intravenous tissue plasminogen activator. CTA demonstrated a right MCA occlusion and CT perfusion suggested a large area of salvageable tissue, so she was taken to the angiography suite for mechanical thrombectomy.
