The aim of this retrospective study was to compare our initial experience with robotic assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty (R-LPP) with the conventional laparoscopic method (C-LPP).
In the defined period from May 2015 to September 2019, atotal of 76renal pelvic surgeries were performed at two different university clinics. In all, 63patients who received either L‑NBP (n = 27) or R‑NBP (n = 36) were considered for data analysis.
The median follow-up for C‑LPP and R‑LPP was 22.5 and 12.7months, respectively. The statistical analysis of the two groups revealed no statistically significant difference regarding age, body mass index, gender or affected side. The operating time was nonsignificantly shorter in the R‑LPP group (180 ± 72 vs. 159 ± 54 min, p = 0.194). There were no statistically significant differences in postoperative pain, complications, average length of stay in hospital (7.48 ± 2.86 vs. 6.33 ± 2.04days) or success rate.

Spectra from the hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients showed consistent differences with respect to those of the control group. In particular, uric acid was found to be relatively more abundant in patients, while hypoxanthine, ergothioneine, and glutathione were found as relatively more abundant in the control group. A repeated double cross-validation (RDCV) strategy was applied to optimize and validate principal component analysis-linear discriminant analysis (PCA-LDA) models. An analysis of the RDCV results indicated that a PCA-LDA model using up to the first four principal components has a good classification performance (average accuracy was 81%). The analysis also allowed confidence intervals to be calculated for the figures of merit, and the principal components used by the LDA to be interpreted in terms of metabolites, confirming that bands of uric acid, hypoxanthine, ergothioneine, and glutathione were indeed used by the PCA-LDA algorithm to classify the spectra.

To present a surgical procedure intended for the reconstruction of complex calvarial and associated tissue defects with reduced invasiveness and improved soft tissue healing compared to the existing gold standard. Both soft tissue and bone reconstruction techniques are described in detail due to their intertwined importance for successful full thickness skull and scalp reconstruction.
During initial medical care, aseptic wound treatment and temporary wound closure are performed. Two weeks postinjury, extensive necrotic tissue debridement and soft tissue reconstruction lay the foundation for well-vascularized tissue regeneration.
