The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to take mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other models, making it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.
It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
her latest blog mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as good. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and works well however this is something that you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home and also find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This will ensure an even and thorough clean and is also fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
best robot vacuum -based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will determine how fast the device will traverse your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
This device has a fairly high price tag but is packed with a wide array of innovative features. It is important to remember that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that includes microfiber pads. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to draw an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to keep specific areas of your home from being scrubbed with a mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect an enormous amount of hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finishing its work.
The app was too easy and you had to alter the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base has several control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its app.
Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
