When I tested the S1 It was quick to locate our downstairs, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, plus carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It easily drove close to walls without hitting them, and even managed to traverse raised room thresholds with no issue, though it occasionally was unable to navigate down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a fantastic job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop smoothly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rugs.

The docking station of the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and replenishes its water tank on board with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary depending on the frequency you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to keep it working well. You'll need to wash out the tank that has been contaminated to avoid it becoming clogged. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to keep them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. However, overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially when compared to other models that require more care.

The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when required. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when needed.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their new flagship model is packed with impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a contender for our list of the best robot vacuums and mop.
