This current study envisages the knowledge, attitude, practice regarding Intellectual Property Rights among dental task force attending private dental colleges.The survey was conducted among students of which were Interns, Post Graduates, faculty members and other dental surgeons attending private dental colleges in Navi Mumbai. The subjects of this study comprised of a total of 1020 students, faculty members and other dental surgeons from five different private dental institutes. The survey includes closed ended questions. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software version 17. Explaining calculations were used to summarize all the answers. A total of 889 students, faculty and other dental surgeons from private dental colleges responded. Results showed that about 83.5% believe the statement "Articles and other publications are protected by copyright." 66.6% of participants would select trademark in order to protect their clinic or organization name. About 38.7% were aware of the term Intellectual Property Rights. It also suggests that only 10.9% have attended any seminar/conference pertaining to IPR. The students and faculty members have an overall sense of eagerness to learn and gain more knowledge based on IPR. Thus conducting more workshops and seminars based on IPR should be encouraged.Postpartum depression is a common disabling psychosocial disorder that could have adverse effects on the life of the mother, infant, and family. The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of ketamine on preventing postpartum depression in women undergoing caesarian sections considering the relatively known positive effect of ketamine on major depression. The present double-blind, randomized clinical trial was conducted on 134 women undergoing scheduled caesarian sections. Participants were randomly allocated into two groups of control and intervention. To induce anesthesia, 1-2 mg/kg of body weight of Nesdonal and 0.5 mg/kg of body weight of ketamine were used in the intervention group, while only 3-5 mg/kg of body weight Nesdonal was administered in the control group. Data were gathered using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) in three stages before the caesarian section and two and four weeks after the caesarian section. Data were analyzed using variance analysis with repeated measures and the Chi-square test. Results of the present study showed that the mean (± standard deviation) of the depression score in the intervention and control groups were 13.78±3.87 and 13.79±4.78(p = 0.98) before the caesarian section, 11.82±3.41 and 14.34±4.29 (p less then 0.001) two weeks after and 10.84±3.48 and 13.09±3.79 (p = 0.001) four weeks after the caesarian section, respectively. Using ketamine in the induction of general anesthesia could be effective in preventing postpartum depression. However, further studies are required to strengthen these findings.This study aims to determine whether the design of resin posts reinforced with glass fiber (FRC) and Reporfost (Angelus, Londrina, PR, Brazil) significantly improves the fracture resistance of endodontically treated teeth restored through this method.A batch of 30 maxillary monoradicular teeth (15 central incisors, 15 canines) were treated endodontically by step-back technique (apical enlargement 40-K file) sealed with Sealapex (Kerr Corporation, Orange, US) and gutta-percha by lateral condensation, cold. They were divided into two equal groups, prepared for cementing the FRC posts. The Exacto posts (Angelus, Londrina, PR, Brazil) in group 1 and the Reforpost posts (Angelus; Londrina; PR, Brazil) were cemented with dual cure resin cement Breeze Self-Adhesive Resin Cement (Pentron Clinical, Orange, US). Fracture resistance testing was performed on the crown-apical axial direction, using the Hounsfield / Tinius Olsen H1-KS, PA, USA mechanical testing apparatus. The behavior of each tooth-post assembly was recorded as a graph. The statistical analysis was done using one way ANOVA (α=0.05). The differences between the Exacto post group and the Reforpost post group are not statistically significant (p = 0.466). The maximum force recorded was 970 N and the minimum 186N. The mean force at which the fracture occurred was approximately 500N for both groups. The strain test showed that modifying the Reforpost post design did not improve the fracture resistance parameters of the tooth-post assembly through increasing the surface friction or maintaining adhesion to the walls of the root dentin.Our objective was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of Alvarado and appendicitis inflammatory response (AIR) scoring systems among children suspected of acute appendicitis concerning their postoperative outcomes. During a two-year period, a prospective multicentric study was carried in the selected hospitals of Iran.
