How Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Became The Hottest Trend In 2024
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Going Here are an excellent option for those who wish to get mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through a clean.

It's efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as good. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't make the same amount of noise while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and works well, but it's something you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home, identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. They can reach corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen the odors.

Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the intensity of its suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every one to three month.

This robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan map that it uses to draw the path to follow when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was starting or finished its work.

Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the need to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't contain multiple maps, which can be a pain when you live in a house that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base comes with a few control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you manually untangle it. This is a rare event, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in the market that is dominated by boxes.
