Computed tomography data from infants with PRS who had MDO were compared to those of age-matched control infants without facial skeletal dysmorphology. Surface/volume, linear, and angular measurements of the condyle and glenoid fossa were obtained and compared between infants with PRS and controls. Eleven infants with PRS met the inclusion criteria. There were five female and six male subjects with a mean age at the time of MDO of 41±32 days. Prior to MDO, PRS mandibles had a smaller condylar articulating surface area and volume than age-matched control mandibles, with a more laterally positioned condylar axis (P≤0.05). Following MDO, there were significant increases in condylar articulating surface area and volume, approaching those of normal controls, with further lateral translation of the condylar axis (P≤0.05). Condyle and glenoid fossa morphology is largely normalized following early MDO in infants with PRS. The condylar axis translates laterally as a result of MDO; this change is not observed with mandibular growth in infants without PRS.Post-processing analysis can provide valuable information for diagnosis and planning of orbital disorders. This cross-sectional study aims to evaluate the reliability of semi-automatic, orbital fat volumetry using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Two observers assessed the orbital fat volume using a standard MRI protocol (3T, T1w sequence) in 12 orbits diagnosed with Graves' orbitopathy (GO) and 10 healthy control orbits. MRI and computed tomography (CT) based analysis were compared. Intra-observer variability was good (intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) 0.88; 95% confidence interval (CI) [0.70, 0.95]) and interobserver agreement was moderate (ICC 0.55; 95% CI [-0.09, 0.81]), which corresponds to a mean percentage difference of 1.3% and 17.9% of the total orbital fat volume. Mean differences between MRI and CT measurements were, respectively, 1.1 cm3 (P= 0.064, 95% CI [-0.20, 2.43]) and 1.4 cm3 (P=0.016, 95% CI [0.21, 2.56]) for the control and the GO group. MRI volumetry was strongly correlated with CT (Pearson's r= 0.7, P less then 0.001). We conclude that orbital fat volumetry is feasible with a semi-automatic segmentation procedure and standard MRI protocol. Correlation with CT volumetry is good, but considerable bias may derive from observer variability and these errors should be taken into account for the purpose of volumetric analysis. Better definition of error sources may increase measurement accuracy.

During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Iran reported its first confirmed cases of syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom. Although the numbers of cases are increasing, no report about clinical manifestations, laboratory results, and imaging findings of the children infected with COVID-19 in Iran has been published. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiological, clinical, and radiological and laboratory findings of 24 children who had proven SARS-CoV-2 infection and performed chest computed tomographic (CT) in Qom, Iran.

Demographic information and clinical characteristics of the patients including signs and symptoms, chest CT scan manifestation, laboratory findings and clinical outcomes were collected. Diagnosing of the confirmed case was based on positive real-time reverse-transcriptase-polymerase-chain-reaction test for SARS-CoV-2.

During the first 3 months of the epidemic in Qom, Iran, 24 children with confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 wepical imaging features should be interpreted with caution.
High frequency of atypical chest CT finding in children should raise concern for pediatricians. Early recognition of patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection is of crucial importance in controlling of the outbreak and atypical imaging features should be interpreted with caution.
