Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills, stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

Its only issue is that the robot tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning in the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks are required, such as emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options for customising your cleaning routine.
