Bedside Cot Reviews
A bedside crib, also known as a baby bassinet is positioned next to your bed to ensure that you can safely take care of your baby during night feedings and nappy-changings, without needing to leave the bed. These cribs are great to help develop independence in your child as they grow more comfortable in their own sleeping space.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that allows parents to sleep with their infant while making sure they're safe. Its smooth gliding motion helps to soothe your baby into sleep and its innovative features let you keep an eye on them without having to leave your own bed.
The sliding side panel of the cot can be lifted and lowered by a simple push of a single button. This makes it easy to reach inside and soothe a crying baby at night. It also has 11 height adjustments that allow it to fit on the mattress of almost any size bed. It also comes with adjustable feet that fold down to ensure that it sits at just the right height.
In terms of safety the cot is cushioned and fitted with mesh sides for increased ventilation, and its mattress is made of high-density foam for extra protection. It's also washable and you can keep the crib clean. It includes a fitted bed sheet that is suitable for the crib.
The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for beds, is compatible with a wide range of beds, including divans. This is due to the straps and clips which connect to it. It can also be used as a standalone crib when it's not connected to the bed. It's full of amazing features that are specifically designed with the bonding between parents and babies in mind.
It is essential to keep in mind that this crib won't last as long as when your baby turns six months old. You will need to buy a bigger cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was a great buy. She loved its sleek design.
John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for a cot. She was pleased with the way it looked in her bedroom and thought its gray color would be appropriate for most modern homes. She did mention that it's not a good idea to rock a baby younger because it can create an unfavourable sleep pattern for later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning crib for bed designed with a safe night's sleep in mind. It features a drop-side rail that can be easily lowered to feed your child during the night without disturbing them or forcing them out of the bed. This is perfect for mothers who breastfeed! It's also light, making it easy to move around the house during nap time and for travelling.
We love that it's constructed of soft materials that have mesh sides that breathe, which aids in airflow and comfort. It's available in charcoal and oak and comes with a variety of melange fabrics that work well with a variety of decor styles. Anna discovered that it was solid and secure when it was attached to her bed. The legs slid into place and the zippers were secured to ensure safety. It took her about 10 minutes to assemble and did not require tools, and comes with clear instructions and a video as well as a customer support contact number should you run into any issues.
The CoZee crib is equipped with all the features you would expect from a crib to your bedside, including the ability to connect it to your bed using a stay-in place connection system. It also has six height settings. Additionally it has an inclines feature that can be used to help infants suffering from reflux or congestion. It can also be washed in the machine and is a must for all the spills, vomit, and snot that accompany a new baby!
If bedside cot wooden looking to keep your baby close during the first six months of their life when they're learning to sleep independently, the CoZee is a great choice as it can also be used as a separate crib, changing table and toddler bed. It can also be transformed into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. Although it can't magically put your baby to sleep or feed them, it will rock the baby and take them to school.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's most expensive models, but it is packed with lots of features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib and is suitable for babies from birth to six months. It features a brand new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel and is easy to use even with one hand. It's also more flexible than the predecessor, with 11 different height settings as well as legs that retract to place under any bed.
Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel, which can be moved upwards and downwards with just one click of a switch. This was a huge help in feedings at night as it meant that they could easily reach in and pick up their baby without disturbing them.
It is possible to lower the side panel by it's own, however this is not recommended because it increases the chance that your child could be thrown out of the cot. The safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will stay down if it is properly attached to the parent's mattress. This feature is great for peace of mind if you are breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.
Telescopic legs allow the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed including divan bases as well as beds with drawers. It also comes with tilting functions to help babies who are refluxy and a rocking feature to help them sleep after eating. It's also extremely spacious and provides excellent ventilation due to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It is a little heavier than other side-sleepers, but it's easily moved from one area to another. It can also be folded into a travel bag which is ideal if you want to transport it. The only issue our testers noticed was that the side panel didn't move like some of the other models, making it slightly harder to observe your child from your own bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're looking for an ideal bedside crib that can expand with your child then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth a look. Designed to be a co-sleeping bassinet that will attach securely to your bed but also transform into a stylish cot once your baby is ready, it's ideal for feeding your baby at night and for strengthening your bond with your newborn.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other cribs. The mesh side panels with dual-view and hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress increase airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline option helps to ease colic and reflux and colic, while the zip-down side makes it easy to feed or soothe your baby at night.
The cot conversion kit (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you require to get started. It took us about an hour to put together and was reasonably straightforward. The only drawback was the lack of written captions on some of the pictures, which made it difficult to comprehend certain steps. Overall, the procedure was simple and the materials used were of top quality.
The Shnuggle Air is a great option for mothers who are breastfeeding or have had C-sections. It allows them to reach out and hold their baby to comfort them and feeding without leaving their bed. It's ideal for parents who don't want to deal with the burden of putting their infant in a traditional cot, or getting out of it.
During our testing, we found the gliding motion of this next to me crib to be extremely helpful when it comes to getting babies to sleep after feedings at night and midday. The drop-down side makes it easy to feed or soothe babies throughout the night. This was a big selling point for our exhausted moms who took part in our tests. The Joie Roomie Glide is a sleek and functional crib that isn't rocking, nor does it come with extra features like an audio system.
