The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. best budget robot vacuum can be a great option for those who are looking to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. Some models have superior mapping and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to navigate through tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through a clean.
It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and poop with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as effective. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It is easy to install and performs well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house, find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. These include corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to avoid build-up and lessen the odors.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
The device has a expensive price tag, but it has a variety of smart features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap in and out of place. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able capture the majority of hair shed by our cats and even found its way into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were pleasant jingles to let you know that it was in the process of working towards its goal.
The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to contain multiple maps, which could be a problem if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, however it also has unique features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock that serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base comes with a few control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more precise in finding objects.
The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
