During devastating aggression on Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) around 400 thousand soldiers were included in combats. It is estimated that more than 100 000 persons were killed, and more than 60 000 them were soldiers. Vast majority of them were deployed since war is ended. We found high prevalence of sexual dysfunctions in war veterans. Also significant difference in several areas of sexual functioning between war veterans with and without symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder was found.BACKGROUND Both depression and sexual dysfunction (SD) may be present in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate a possible association between SD and depression in patients with MS in Croatia. SUBJECTS AND METHODS This was a prospective cross-sectional study carried out in tertiary healthcare centre over 10 months, which included 101 consecutive pwMS (mean age 42.09 (range 19-77) years, 75 female, 26 male, EDSS score 3.1 (range 0.0-7.0)). SD was assessed using Multiple Sclerosis Intimacy and Sexuality Questionnaire (MSISQ), which was for this purpose successfully translated and validated into Croatian. Information on treatment for depression was obtained during the medical interview. Data were analysed and interpreted using parametric statistics (IBM Corp. Released 2015. PJ34 IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 23.0. Armonk, NY IBM Corp.). RESULTS 89 patients completed MSISQ. 25 patients were in treatment for depression, while 75 did not have depressive symptoms my arms, legs, or body; Tremors or shaking in hands or body; Pain, burning, or discomfort in their body; Feeling less attractive; Fear of being rejected sexually because of MS; Lack of sexual interest or desire; Less intense or pleasurable orgasms or climaxes. CONCLUSIONS This study gives insight into the presence of depression and SD in Croatian patients with MS for which purpose valid questionnaire for the assessment of SD in MS patients MSISQ was with permission successfully translated and validated into Croatian. The connection between depression and SD must be considered when managing patients with MS.BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to compare the characteristics of sex offenders today, and those who committed a sex crime fifteen years ago, in regard to their psychiatric-forensic aspects. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Data from the University psychiatric hospital Vrapče, Center for forensic psychiatry on court people sent for psychiatric and forensic evaluation, who were accused of sex offense in two time frames (1998-2001 and 2010-2016) were analysed. In total there were 50 and 57 male subjects sent for an evaluation. RESULTS In both groups rape was the most prevalent offence, and both groups had the same prevalence of abuse, earlier psychiatric treatment and the majority of offenders were diagnosed with dissocial personality disorder and other personality disorders. Paedophilia was diagnosed in only a minority (14% and 7% respectively) of cases. The latter group (2010-2016) committed more sex offences against children, more often were with no mental disorder and less often had alcohol dependence and mental retardation. Up to one third of the later group were not giving their defence, compared to 4% of the former group. CONCLUSIONS Changes in court case law and psychiatrists' usage of diagnostic criteria have influenced the prevalent diagnoses in sex offenders. Paraphilias are not often diagnosed in sex offenders because they do not confirm the act, and in recent years more often use not to give their defence (which makes reaching the diagnosis more challenging).INTRODUCTION During the plateletpheresis procedure the number of thrombocytes in the donor's blood significantly decreases, and the levels of the hematocrit (HCT), hemoglobin (Hgb), and leukocyte (WBC) diminish as well. Influence of the cell separator is one of the factors that affects the levels of HCT, Hgb and WBC. In this study, the goal was to determine the value difference of HCT, Hgb, WBC, and platelets after the platelet pheresis process between performance on Fenwal AMICUS and on Fresenius Com Tec. It is defined as a chronic ischemic rest pain, ulcers or gangrene, attributable to proven arterial occlusive disease. Intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography (IA DSA) still represents the gold standard for the evaluation of steno-occlusive lesions, but it has greatly been replaced with non-invasive multi-detector computed tomography angiography (MDCTA). The purpose of this prospective study was to compare diagnostic performance of MDCTA versus DSA in treatment planning in patients with CLI according to TransAtlantic Inter-Society Consensus Document on Management of Peripheral Arterial disease (TASC II). SUBJECTS AND METHODS The study was designed as prospective; it was conducted from March 2014 to August 2016, and included 60 patients with symptoms of CLI, Fontaine stage III and IV. MDCTA of the peripheral arteries was performed first, followed by DSA. The lesions of aorto-iliac, femoro-popliteal and infra-popliteal regions were classified according to the TASC II guidelines, and inter-modality agreement between MDCTA and DSA was determined by using Kendall's tau-b statistics.
