Recent investigations showed that the arrangement of the trabecular network at the femoral head center is biomechanically compatible with the pattern of cortical bone distribution across the neck, both suggesting a full commitment to bipedalism in australopiths, but associated with a slightly altered gait kinematics compared to Homo involving more lateral deviation of the body center of mass over the stance limb. To provide a global picture in Paranthropus robustus of the trabecular architecture of the proximal femur across the head, neck and greater trochanter compartments, we applied techniques of virtual imaging to the variably preserved Early Pleistocene specimens SK 82, SK 97, SK 3121, SKW 19 and SWT1/LB-2 from the cave site of Swartkrans, South Africa. We also assessed the coherence between d possible structural covariation between cortical bone distribution across the neck and site-specific trabecular properties of the arcuate bundle.
The objective of this study was to estimate the magnitude of acute respiratory infection (ARI) among children younger than 5 years (under-five children) and its association with biomass fuel use for domestic purposes and other behavioural and housing characteristics in Ethiopia.
Systematic review and meta-analysis.
PubMed, Google Scholar, MEDLINE and the Cochrane Library were systematically searched (using the Preferred Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis guideline) for studies that reported an association between biomass fuel use for domestic purposes and ARI. Grey literature and other sources of unpublished information, which were subjected to the same extraction methods and quality appraisal as published studies, were also identified. A meta-analysis was performed to combine the quantitative measures from eligible individual studies into a summary estimate. Quality assessment was conducted using the modified Newcastle-Ottawa Scale quality assessment tool for cross-sectional and case-controlfrom the main house (OR=1.99, 95% CI 1.49-2.68) were associated with ARI.
Based on the results of this review, ARI among under-five children remains high. learn more The present study also revealed that ARI is associated with biomass fuel use, child's gender, absence of a window in the kitchen, non-separated kitchen and carrying the child while cooking. Improved solid fuel stoves, advanced combustion designs, windows or chimneys, separating the kitchen from the main house are all measures required to reduce ARI in under-five children.

We consider how artists explore complex health issues in a large-scale, collaborative art installation.
This article describes - The HIVE - an arts-based knowledge translation (ABKT) initiative through which artists collaborated with researchers, service providers, health consumers, and carers affiliated with a major translational health research centre in Australia.
We present a case study that draws on artist statements and visual documentation to evoke the different facets of the initiative.
The eight projects encompassed by The HIVE were diverse. Artistic media included textiles, sculpture, poetry and photography. Health issues ranged from palliative care to child healthcare.
The HIVE was not simply an installation but a nucleus that fostered collaboration through the design and development of creative artworks. In emphasising empathy and non-verbal communication, The HIVE at once translated and expanded health(care) research and practice.

The present study aimed to investigate the clinical significance and prognostic value of LINC01793 in OSCC patients, and to explore its role in the modulation of OSCC development.
LINC01793 expression was analyzed in 80 cases of OSCC patients and SCC9, SCC25, Cal27, and HN6 cell lines by qRT-PCR. The association of LINC01793 expression with clinicopathological features and prognosis in OSCC patients was analyzed. The effects of LINC01793 on cell proliferation, cell cycle, migration, and invasion of SCC9 and Cal27 cells were detected by MTT, flow cytometry, and Transwell assays in vitro, respectively.
LINC01793 level was upregulated in cancer tissues and cell lines of OSCC, and its expression was increased in cancer tissues from patients with lymph node metastasis. ROC curve for LINC01793 expression and lymph node metastasis revealed a significant AUC of 0.84 (95 % CI 0.75-0.93), with 76.51 % sensitivity and 83.69 % specificity. Moreover, high LINC01793 level was positively correlated with T category, TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, and local recurrence. OSCC patients with high level of LINC01793 was followed by low overall survival rate, and LINC01793 expression was an independent prognostic indicator for overall survival in patients with OSCC. Functionally, cell proliferation, invasion and migration of SCC9 and Cal27 cells were decreased after knockdown of LINC01793. Consistently, silence of LINC01793 induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest in OSCC cells.
High LINC01793 level is correlated with adverse clinicopathological features and poor prognosis of patients with OSCC. LINC01793 act as an oncogenic role in the development of OSCC.
