Consistent with predictions, Wanting, much more than Liking, had robust correlations with TTM severity, impulsiveness, difficulties in emotion regulation, psychiatric symptoms, and sleep dysfunction. The results suggest that the HPRS is a psychometrically sound instrument that can be used as a symptom-level measure of reward processing in TTM.We evaluate the bias from endogenous job mobility in fixed-effects estimates of worker- and firm-specific earnings heterogeneity using longitudinally linked employer-employee data from the LEHD infrastructure file system of the U.S. Census Bureau. First, we propose two new residual diagnostic tests of the assumption that mobility is exogenous to unmodeled determinants of earnings. Both tests reject exogenous mobility. We relax exogenous mobility by modeling the matched data as an evolving bipartite graph using a Bayesian latent-type framework. Our results suggest that allowing endogenous mobility increases the variation in earnings explained by individual heterogeneity and reduces the proportion due to employer and match effects. To assess external validity, we match our estimates of the wage components to out-of-sample estimates of revenue per worker. The mobility-bias corrected estimates attribute much more of the variation in revenue per worker to variation in match quality and worker quality than the uncorrected estimates.Very little is known about American Indian (AI) adults' participation in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) despite their elevated rates of negative sequelae due to heavy alcohol consumption and alcohol use disorders. This study sought to fill that gap and examined the engagement in AA by urban Southwest AI (S-AI) adult problem drinkers and whether enculturation and acculturation accounted for type of AA attended (mainstream versus culturally adapted AA; CA-AA). Microtubule Associat inhibitor Additionally, we compared three and six-month drinking outcomes of urban S-AI adults by type of meeting attended. Sixty-one urban S-AI adults were consented and assessed at baseline, three and six-months. We examined the association between frequency of AA attendance and differences between types of meetings attended regressed on the outcomes of proportion abstinent days and drinks per drinking day. Results indicate that AA attendance is the model approach and assists urban S-AI adults in reducing their drinking. Despite higher engagement among those attending both AA and CA-AA, this did not translate into differential AA-related benefit which speaks to the need for additional research to assist AI adults in effectively reducing their alcohol use.Since the heyday of cleavage voting in the 1960s and 1970s, the majority of studies presents evidence of a decline in cleavage voting - caused by either structural or behavioural dealignment. Structural dealignment denotes changes in group size responsible for a decrease in cleavage voting, whereas behavioural dealignment concerns weakening party-voter links over time. A third phenomenon posited in this article is the collective voting abstention of certain (social) groups, here referred to as 'political dealignment', which results in a new type of division of voting versus abstention. The purpose of this article is to examine the three underlying mechanisms for the decline in social class and religious cleavage voting across four Western countries (Great Britain, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United States) over the last 40-60 years using longitudinal post-election data. The results prove a strong presence of political dealignment and increasing turnout gaps regarding both the class and religious cleavage. Furthermore, whenever a decline in cleavage voting is present, it is mainly caused by changes in the social groups' behaviour and less by changing social structures in a country. © 2019 The Authors European Journal of Political Research published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd. on behalf of European Consortium for Political Research.Commercial finite element modeling packages do not have the tools necessary to effectively incorporate the complex anisotropic and heterogeneous material properties typical of the biological tissues of the eye. We propose a mesh-free approach to incorporate realistic material properties into finite element models of individual human eyes. The method is based on the idea that material parameters can be estimated or measured at so called control points, which are arbitrary and independent of the finite element mesh. The mesh-free approach approximates the heterogeneous material parameters at the Gauss points of each finite element while the boundary value problem is solved using the standard finite element method. The proposed method was applied to an eye-specific model a human posterior pole and optic nerve head. We demonstrate that the method can be used to effectively incorporate experimental measurements of the lamina cribrosa micro-structure into the eye-specific model. It was convenient to define characteristic material orientations at the anterior and posterior scleral surface based on the eye-specific geometry of each sclera. The mesh-free approach was effective in approximating these characteristic material directions with smooth transitions across the sclera. For the first time, the method enabled the incorporation of the complex collagen architecture of the peripapillary sclera into an eye-specific model including the recently discovered meridional fibers at the anterior surface and the depth dependent width of circumferential fibers around the scleral canal. The model results suggest that disregarding the meridional fiber region may lead to an underestimation of local strain concentrations in the retina. The proposed approach should simplify future studies that aim to investigate collagen remodeling in the sclera and optic nerve head or in other biological tissues with similar challenges. The previously ignored or unreported impact of regiosomerism within diglycidyl ether of bisphenol F (DGEBF) on its network properties is presented. Routes to the isomers of DGEBF were explored high-performance liquid chromatography showed good separation of the three isomers [para-para-DGEBF (ppDGEBF), para-ortho-DGEBF (poDGEBF), and ortho-ortho-DGEBF (ooDGEBF)] with small yields; column chromatography gave good separation of pp- + po- from oo-DGEBF but pp-/po- separation was not achieved. Synthesis was optimized to crude yields of 76% for pp-; 87% for po-, and 86% for oo-. Subsequently, crosslinked networks were prepared with meta-xylylenediamine. With increasing ortho content, degradation of chemical resistance and an inherent weakening of the network was observed, that is, glass transition temperature (T g), beta transition temperature (T β), density, crosslink density, and the desorption diffusion coefficient decreased, whereas sorption diffusion coefficient and ultimate solvent uptake increased. This clearly shows that a subtle chemical structure change can significantly impact network performance.
