A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

What is a bedside cot?

A bedside crib, also referred to as a bassinet or co-sleeper is a baby cot attached to your adult bed. This allows your newborn to sleep with you in peace. It is a safe method of co-sleeping, which does not increase the risk of SIDS like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with the newborn baby.

The premium airflow mattresses offer an ideal sleeping surface while the ventilation panels keep your baby cool. There are six different height settings as well as an incline option that can help with reflux and congestion.

The Tutti Bambini COZee air crib has a removable fabric and a wipe-clean lining. This makes it easier to clean than bedside cribs that can be a mess to clean. It also has an upper bar that can be easily lowered for feeding at night without having to fumble with zips in the dark.

Anna discovered that the CoZee was a safe and comfy sleeping space for her infant. She was pleased that it didn't rock like other models, which meant it wasn't waking her at night when she was trying to soothe her baby during feedings. She also loved that the side lowered down so she didn't need to reach out over her partner to carry the baby for feedings at night.

The CoZee is available in oak or charcoal and is a chic addition to any bedroom. It's more of an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs we've tested, and can appear quite utilitarian. It's also light at 11kg, and comes with a carrying case that allows you to take it on holiday or when you are moving home. You only need to purchase an waterproof sheet and a safety strap for sleeping together. The instructions and images are easy to follow once you open the box.

The Maxi-Cosi Lora

The Iora is a bassinet for the bed that helps parents feel connected to their child while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and can be moved through three slide positions to be placed next to the parent's bed, or in the corner of the room so that the baby is always close to the parent's side. The mesh siding allows air to circulate through, allowing you to see your baby easily. You can also put away any extra pajamas or items in the large storage basket beneath.

The Iora is a bedside crib that is smaller and can fold flat. It also comes with a travel bag to allow it to be carried anywhere. Our mom testers found it easy to move from room to room and believed that it was a good size for a bedside cot, not too big or too small. The large storage basket is perfect to store extra bedding or nappies.

This is a great choice for parents who wish to sleep in a co-sleeping bed but don't want to share their bed. Or if one of the partners has mobility issues like back pain or arthritis. Our mum testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their child while in the Iora and that it came with an optional reflux incline that helped alleviate gas.

Our moms are also thrilled that it complies with NICE guidelines which state that you should place the baby in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no toys, blankets pillows, etc.). The mattress is also sturdy and comfortable for babies, and sheets are easy to find. cots4tots isn't as light as other smaller bedside cribs however, so if you want something lighter and easier to move around, consider one of the other options on our list.
