Sudden cardiovascular loss of life in patients using myocardial infarction: 1.Five main reduction.
These results expand the understanding of the optical properties and the charge carrier relaxation in double perovskites, thus, facilitating the further development of optoelectronic devices harnessing lead-free perovskites. We report on the colloidal stability of nanoparticles with alkanethiol shells in apolar solvents. Small-angle X-ray scattering and molecular dynamics simulations were used to characterize the interaction between nanoparticles in linear alkane solvents ranging from hexane to hexadecane, including 4 nm gold cores with hexadecanethiol shells and 6 nm cadmium selenide cores with octadecanethiol shells. We find that the agglomeration is enthalpically driven and that, contrary to what one would expect from classical colloid theory, the temperature at which the particles agglomerate increases with increasing solvent chain length. We demonstrate that the inverted trend correlates with the temperatures at which the ligands order in the different solvents and show that the inversion is due to a combination of enthalpic and entropic effects that enhance the stability of the ordered ligand state as the solvent length increases. We also explain why cyclohexane is a better solvent than hexadecane despite the two having very similar solvation parameters.Cellulose/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/Fe3O4 aerogels exhibiting strong electromagnetic wave absorption were prepared by a green, simple, and scalable coprecipitation process. With rGO loading of 8 wt % and Fe3O4 content of approx. 15 wt %, the electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of the cellulose/rGO/Fe3O4 aerogel with 0.5 mm thickness reached 32.4-40.1 dB at 8.2-12.4 GHz. The EMI shielding performance of cellulose/rGO/Fe3O4 aerogels was higher for larger rGO loading (varied between 3 and 8 wt %) and greatly improved on increasing the sample thickness (varied between 0.5 and 2 mm). At 2.0 mm thickness, SE values of 49.4-52.4 dB were reached. Absorption plays a major role in the EMI shielding mechanism of cellulose/rGO/Fe3O4 aerogels. The multireflection of microwaves and impedance matching provides the highly efficient EMI shielding caused by the combined effects of the porous structure, rGO sheets, and Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The results demonstrate that these lightweight aerogels are suitable for EMI shielding.Owing to better stability and biosafety, heterogeneous Cu nanoparticles (CuNPs) have been put forward as a promising candidate to complete the Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. However, the inherent poor activity of Cu(0) deterred its wide bioapplication. Herein, we employed near-infrared (NIR) light to dual-promote the CuAAC reaction of a biocompatible heterogeneous copper nanocatalyst through photodynamic and photothermal effects in vitro and in vivo. Specifically, the photodynamic activity could promote the conversion of Cu(0) to Cu(I) to accelerate the catalytic process of CuAAC. The high photothermal conversion efficiency (η = 50.6%) could increase the local temperature, further promoting the whole reaction. Then, a drastically increased reaction rate in a living system ranging from cells to nematodes was achieved in our system. Meanwhile, the better antitumor efficacy has determined with in vivo tumor therapy experiments.Cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) and stimulator of interferon genes (STING) are essential components of the innate immune sensors to cytosolic DNA and elicit type I interferon (IFN). Recent studies have revealed that manganese (Mn) can enhance cGAS and STING activation to viral infection. However, the role of Mn in antitumor immunity has not been explored. check details Here, we designed a nanoactivator, which can induce the presence of DNA in cytoplasm and simultaneously elevate Mn2+ accumulation within tumor cells. In detail, amorphous porous manganese phosphate (APMP) NPs that are highly responsive to tumor microenvironment were employed to construct doxorubicin (DOX)-loaded and phospholipid (PL)-coated hybrid nanoparticles (PL/APMP-DOX NPs). PL/APMP-DOX NPs were stably maintained during systemic circulation, but triggered to release DOX for inducing DNA damage and Mn2+ to augment cGAS/STING activity. We found that PL/APMP-DOX NPs with superior tumor-targeting capacity boosted dendritic cell maturation and increased cytotoxic T lymphocyte infiltration as well as natural killer cell recruitment into the tumor site. Furthermore, the NPs increased production of type I IFN and secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines (for example, TNF-α and IL-6). Consequently, PL/APMP-DOX NPs exhibited excellent antitumor efficacy and prolonged the lifespan of the tumor-bearing mice. Collectively, we developed a PL-decorated Mn-based hybrid nanoactivator to intensify immune activation and that might provide therapeutic potential for caner immunotherapy. The emission linewidth of a semiconducting nanocrystal (NC) significantly affects its performance in light-emitting applications, but its fundamental limit is still elusive. Herein, we analyze the exciton-phonon coupling (EPC) from Huang-Rhys (HR) factors using ab initio calculations and compute emission line shapes of CdSe NCs. When surface traps are absent, acoustic modes are found to dominate EPC. The computed linewidths are mainly determined by the size of NCs, being largely insensitive to the shape and crystal structure. Linewidths obtained in this work are much smaller than most measurements on homogeneous linewidths, but they are consistent with a CdSe/CdxZn1-xSe (core/shell) NC [Park, Y.-S.; Lim, J.; Klimov, V. I. Nat. Mater. 2019 18, 249-255]. Based on this comparison, it is concluded that the large linewidths in most experiments originated from internal fields by surface (or interface) traps or quasi-type II band alignment that amplifies EPC. Thus, the present results on NCs with ideal passivation provide the fundamental minimum of homogeneous linewidths, indicating that only the CdSe/CdxZn1-xSe NC has achieved this limit through well-controlled synthesis of shell structures. To further verify the role of internal fields, we model NCs with charged surface defects. We find that the internal field significantly increases HR factors and linewidths, in reasonable agreement with experiments on single cores. By revealing the fundamental limit of the emission linewidths of quantum dots, this work will pave the way for engineering quantum dots with an ultrasharp spectrum.
