Samsung Fridges - Show Off Your Kitchen Style
Samsung refrigerators are designed to showcase your kitchen style. They have clever features that keep you entertained and well-organized.
SmartThings is a free app that allows you to control your fridge using Wi-Fi. Easily change the fridge's temperature and use the FlexZone compartment as an deli, wine, beverage, or soft freeze zone.
The Family Hub
The Samsung Family Hub fridge's 21-inch touchscreen is the kitchen's command center. The apps let you manage your calendars, grocery lists keep track of food and household inventory and even leave notes for your family. Music apps (Spotify, iHeartRadio) and the ability to see the inside of the refrigerator without opening the door are also available.
In addition to a plethora of features, Family Hub refrigerators can serve as a smart home controller by connecting to your Wi-Fi network and allowing you to control other Samsung smart devices, such as SmartThings-connected ovens, hobs and range hoods. Samsung's app lets you start and control these appliances from anywhere in the world, as long as you have an internet connection.
This feature isn't included in all models of the Family Hub fridge. Some versions don't include a camera that can be used to enable the View Inside feature, while others do, but they only support two or three cameras at the same time.
Even so, we discovered the app to be a useful tool for reducing food waste and making the most of fridge's capabilities. We used the app to set reminders to eat leftovers and also to track expiration dates of items in our refrigerator. The cameras on the fridge let us quickly and easily create grocery lists so we wouldn't miss anything important during our next trip.
Family Hub refrigerators have other smart features which make them stand out from the competition. They include an automated morning briefing that includes news articles, as well as an interactive voice-controlled browser. The fridge also features an integrated speaker that can play music as well as podcasts, and a variety of other audio content. It's an interesting feature however it's not the same audio quality as a Bluetooth speaker.
The Family Hub fridge's biggest drawback is its price, but it has many other excellent features. It's one the best-designed smart refrigerators available and comes with a range of features that make the purchase worth it even for families that aren't planning to use its full capabilities.
The Freezer
The Family Hub Refrigerator is Samsung's most innovative and newest attempt to sell us smart fridges. This fridge is more modern than any other model on the market thanks to its 21.5-inch touchscreen, with apps, an camera for monitoring inventory in the door, and a sleek, attractive stainless-steel finish. It's also costly starting at $5,600, or $6,000 for a counter-depth model that has more capacity.
The Family Hub is a great fridge that can do everything, including managing your grocery list and calendar. But its superfluous apps, the lack of voice control, and missing SmartThings integration (it does have a camera, though) aren't exactly great opportunities. And it's less spacious than premium French doors and even with the additional capacity for ice.
Another aspect to take into consideration when you are shopping for a refrigerator is the amount of energy it will consume throughout its life. This includes the embodied energies of the raw materials used, the energy required to produce it, and any additional electricity or natural gas it consumes while operating at your home. We've conducted some research and found that Samsung fridges generally are more efficient than standard refrigerators.
You can also gauge the amount of energy your refrigerator uses by examining its ENERGY STAR rating, which should give you an estimate of the amount of energy it uses every year. It is important to keep in mind that the ENERGY STAR label only applies to refrigerators with the highest standards for energy efficiency, and that even a "high-efficiency" refrigerator will consume more energy than a fridge that is less efficient. This is why it's so crucial to do your research before purchasing a fridge.
The French Door
The Family Hub fridge is Samsung's most recent, and perhaps the boldest attempt to convince consumers on the concept of smart fridges. It takes the French door build that's now commonplace in modern refrigerators, adds the 21.5-inch touchscreen loaded with cameras and apps on the inside to watch over your food inventory and is offered in an attractive black stainless-steel finish. best Samsung refrigerator is also arguably the most expensive fridge on the market.
The fridge feels futuristic however it doesn't feel like a complete change from how we've previously used refrigerators. The refrigerator has always served as a sort of town post for busy families. It was used to store calendars, a to-do list and report cards to remind us about soccer practices or simply note down what we needed to buy.
Samsung's app has many of the same features as a smartphone. However, the functionality is still limited. The apps are designed to track the food inventory of your fridge and set timers. However, it's hard to not be disappointed that Alexa isn't available.
While Samsung doesn't offer an official breakdown of where their products are assembled, based on the fact that they have four chip fabrication centers in South Korea and one in Austin, Texas, it's probably safe to assume that most of the fridges are made overseas (Manufacturing-Centers). This means that during the product's life cycle, the sun's energy is used to produce the raw materials that make up the fridge. Then, the kinetic energy is used to transport the fridge, manufacture it, and operate it.
From a carbon footprint perspective Smart refrigerators are more efficient than traditional fridges, because they use less electricity and gas to cool the contents and power their internal systems. Smart refrigerators are more energy efficient and designed to conserve power when not being used.
The Bespoke
If you're willing to drop nearly $3000 on a fridge, this customizable option from Samsung is a great option to show off your kitchen style. With removable colored panels that can be swapped out at anytime This model is a fun option for those who are looking for a fridge that will match the style of their home. But if you're looking for more smart functions, this fridge may not be worth the price.
Smart refrigerators can connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. They allow you to view inside your refrigerator without opening the door, remotely verify that the doors are closed and determine if there is an issue with the appliance. They also save energy. Many come with coffee makers and Ice makers to help you save more.
These appliances are designed to help conserve energy, and come with the ENERGY STAR certification and SmartThings Energy which allows you to track and manage your fridge's power usage from the app on your phone. You can also set up an alarm that reminds you to buy groceries or take food out for the trash.
Samsung Family Hub fridges have touchscreens that are similar to smartphones. You can make shopping lists and search for recipes and much more. The app can be used to stream TV on a Samsung smart TV. A Wi-Fi connection is required, as well as an account with a Samsung account.
The Family Hub can also be used to manage your digital calendar and leave notes for housemates or family members. You can even choose to connect your Samsung fridge with your Samsung SmartThings smart home system so that you can see what's in the fridge from any location.
However touchscreens can be difficult to use. It's not as responsive as smartphones, with the ability to draw and type often being a struggle. It is also limited in terms of its touch resolution. The wide bezel around the screen can make it hard to accurately choose a button.
As far as eco-friendly features are concerned If you're looking for eco-friendly features, the Family Hub refrigerator is a great option. The ENERGY STAR rating means that it uses less than half the power of a typical household refrigerator. This is due to the fridge's lower energy consumption and more efficient refrigeration system. The fridge's embodied power is also low, which means it doesn't require as many raw materials or resources for its production.
