In this study, we developed the first, attention-based, interpretable model that predicts hERG blockers and captures important hERG-related compound substructures. To do that, we first collected various datasets, ranging from public databases to publicly available private datasets, to train and test the model. Then, we developed a precise and interpretable hERG blocker prediction model by using deep learning with a self-attention approach that has an appropriate molecular descriptor, Morgan fingerprint. The proposed prediction model was validated, and the validation result showed that the model was well-optimized and had high performance. The test set performance of the proposed model was significantly higher than that of previous fingerprint-based conventional machine learning models. In particular, the proposed model generally had high accuracy and F1 score thereby, representing the model's predictive reliability. Furthermore, we interpreted the calculated attention score vectors obtained from the proposed prediction model and demonstrated the important structural patterns that are represented in hERG blockers. In summary, we have proposed a powerful and interpretable hERG blocker prediction model that can reduce the overall cost of drug discovery by accurately screening for hERG blockers and suggesting hERG-related substructures.Jingmen tick virus (JMTV) is a recently identified virus which provides an unexpected connection between segmented and unsegmented RNA viruses. Recent investigations reveal that JMTV including JMTV-like virus (Alongshan virus) could be associated with human disease, suggesting the significance of JMTV in public health. To better understand the genetic diversity and host range of JMTV, a total of 164 rodents representing 8 species were collected in Qapqal Xibe county of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, and were screened for JMTVs using RT- PCR. Consequently, JMTV was identified in 42 rodents including 23 Microtus arvalis voles (24.5%), 9 Apodemus uralensis mice (29.0%), 5 Mus musculus mice, 1 Rhombomys opimus gerbil, 1 Meriones tamariscinus gerbil, 1 Meriones libycus gerbil, 1 Cricetulus migratorius hamster and 1 Microtus gregalis vole. Interestingly, nearly complete genome sequences were successfully recovered from 7 JMTV positive samples. Although the newly identified rodent JMTVs were closely related to those previously identified in ticks from China, based on the phylogenetic analysis of the S1, S2 and S3 segments, the newly identified rodent viruses clustered into two genetic groups. One group comprised of viruses only found in M. arvalis, while another group included viruses from A. uralensis, C. migratorius and M. gregalis. However, all rodent viruses clustered together in the S4 tree. A generalized estimating equations model combining phonatory and articulatory measures showed that CPP SD, low/high (L/H) spectral ratio mean and SD, Cepstral Spectral Index of Dysphonia (CSID), and maximum tongue movement speed were significant contributors to intelligibility changes in older individuals. While L/H mean and SD and CSID displayed an inverse relationship with intelligibility, CPP SD and maximum tongue speed displayed a direct relationship with intelligibility. Discussion Aging affects the phonatory and articulatory subsystems with implications for speech intelligibility. Phonatory cepstral/spectral measures (except mean CPP) were associated with speech intelligibility changes, suggesting that changes in voice quality may contribute to reduced intelligibility in older adults. Pertaining to articulation, slower tongue movement speed likely contributed to reduced intelligibility in older individuals.
