Results The obtained data indicated that the prepared CPT-loaded lipopolymersome at a PEG-PLA DPPC ratio of 7525 exhibited superior stability and high loading capacity compared to other systems. Moreover, high cytotoxicity of the aptamer-targeted lipopolymersome and increased tumor accumulation were observed in comparison with non-targeted one.Conclusions The designed polymer-rich lipopolymersomal platform offers bright future for the development of potent nanomedicine against cancer.A new benzofuran derivative, nervione (1), was isolated from Nervilia concolor (Blume) Schltr. (Orchidaceae). Eight previously reported compounds were also isolated 5,7-dimethoxyflavone (2), 3,5,7-trimethoxyflavone (3), 7-methoxyflavone (4), 3,7-dimethoxy-5-hydroxyflavone (5), tetramethylscutellarein (4',5,6,7-tetramethoxyflavone) (6), 5,7-dimethoxy-4'-hydroxyflavone (7), rhamnetin (8), and 5,7-dihydroxy-3',4'-dimethoxyflavone (9). The structures were elucidated by 1D, 2D NMR, and HRESIMS spectroscopy in addition to the literature. The relative configuration of 1 was defined using DP4+ probability while its absolute configuration was defined by comparison of the ECD spectrum of 1 with those of previously reported compounds. All isolated compounds were evaluated for alpha-glucosidase inhibition, revealing weak or no activity.Competition for research funds has, in the recent decade, become hypercompetitive. Commonly, to determine which proposals receive funding, a system of peer review is used, which is broadly accepted, easily understood, and broadly trusted among researchers. It is often considered the best system in use, but it suffers from important shortcomings, and adaptations to overcome these shortcomings have small and often short-lived effects. Antiviral potency of compounds 12 and 14 against HCMV, HSV-1 and HPV is also discussed.Objective Coping with the stress aroused by early pregnancy can not only result in distress, but may constitute an opportunity to experience personal growth. Relying on the model of posttraumatic growth, this study examined the contribution of perceived stress and emotion regulation to women's personal growth during the first trimester of pregnancy.Method A convenience sample of Israeli women (n=170), who were during their first trimester of pregnancy (up to 13 weeks), over 18 years old, and capable to completing the instruments in Hebrew, were recruited through a women's health clinic and through social media during the years 2017-2019.Results The findings indicate that primiparous mothers report higher personal growth than multiparous. In addition, younger age, being primiparous, and higher cognitive-reappraisal contributed to greater personal growth. Moreover, a curvilinear association was found between perceived stress and personal growth, so that a medium level of stress was associated with the highest level of growth. Finally, cognitive-reappraisal fully mediated the relationship between perceived stress and personal growth.Conclusions The findings add to the growing body of knowledge concerning the implications of early pregnancy in general, and personal growth as a result of dealing with the stress typical of this period in particular and highlight the role of the perceived stress as well as the woman's personal characteristics and resources that contribute to this result.The potential human health risks of some toxic/harmful elements related to the consumption of Pseudevernia furfuracea (L.) Zopf. were investigated. The toxic/harmful elements (cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), and zinc (Zn)) were determined in P. furfuracea. According to the analysis result, the maximum (max.) toxic/harmful element value was 62 ± 3.1 mg/kg for Mn and minimum (min.) value was 0.19 ± 0.01 mg/kg for Cd. The estimated daily exposure doses (EDEXDs) for men, women and children were dietary (bread) > dietary (tea) > dermal. For dietary (bread) and dietary (tea) non-carcinogenic (HQ) risk was children > women > men. For dermal, HQ risk was women > children > men. Hazard index (HI) value for men was >1 for Cr. HI value for men was 1.36 for Cr. HI value for women was >1 for Cr and Mn. HI values for women were 1.54 for Cr and 1.01 for Mn. Also, the HI value for children was >1 for Cr, Mn, and Pb. HI values for children were 3.44 for Cr, 2.24 for Mn, and 1.
