This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of adequate lymph node dissection (LND) (≥10 pelvic lymph nodes (LNs) and ≥ 5 paraaortic LNs removed) in patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage II endometrioid endometrial cancer (EEC).

A multicenter department database review was performed to identify patients who had been operated and diagnosed with stage II EEC at seven centers in Turkey retrospectively. Demographic, clinicopathological, and survival data were collected and analyzed.

We identified 284 women with stage II EEC. There were 170 (59.9%) patients in the adequate lymph node dissection (LND) group and 114 (40.1%) in the inadequate LND group. The 5-year overall survival (OS) rate of the inadequate LND group was significantly lower than that of the adequate LND group (84.1% vs. 89.1%, respectively; p = 0.028). In multivariate analysis, presence of lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) (hazard ratio [HR] 2.39, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.23-4.63; p = 0.009), age ≥ 60 (HR 3.30, 95% CI 1.65-6.57; p = 0.001], and absence of adjuvant therapy (HR 2.74, 95% CI 1.40-5.35; p = 0.003) remained as independent risk factors for decreased 5-year disease-free survival (DFS). Inadequate LND (HR 2.34, 95% CI 1.18-4.63; p < 0.001), age ≥ 60 (HR 2.67, 95% CI 1.25-5.72; p = 0.011), and absence of adjuvant therapy (HR 4.95, 95% CI 2.28-10.73; p < 0.001) were independent prognostic factors for decreased 5-year OS in multivariate analysis.

Furthermore, LVSI was associated with worse 5-year DFS rate in stage II EEC.Aim of the current study was to assess the effects of the digestibility of late-night high calorie meal on sleep and the activities of the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) and autonomous nervous system (ANS) in healthy young males. For that purpose, effects of an easily digestible meal (starch + sugar-rich meal, SSR, i.e., dessert) or a slowly digestible meal (protein + fat-rich, PFR, i.e. kebab) were investigated in a crossover design in 16 participants (20-26 year old). They did not eat anything after 0700 PM on Day 0; had an SSR meal on Day 1 and a PFR meal on Day 2 at 1000 PM. HPA and ANS activities were measured by cortisol awakening response (CAR) and heart rate variability (HRV), respectively. The participants provided salivary samples for CAR; had a 5-min continuous electrocardiogram recording for HRV; and filled in sleep questionnaires. Late-night eating of SSR and PFR diets increased the area under the curve of CAR (p 0.05). PFR meal significantly disturbed sleep (p less then 0.05). The data suggests that increased activity of HPA, but not ANS, might be involved in pathophysiology of late-night eating and that this might be due to disturbed sleep if slowly-digestible meal is consumed.
The objective of this study was to compare standard elicitation techniques for barriers and enablers for physical activity and sleep behaviours, to an alternative approach whereby participants were told to only consider the literal meanings of the words prevent/enable.

Randomized controlled design.

College students were randomized to either a standard methods group (n=177) (what prevents you from doing behaviour X) or a vignette group (n=176) to encourage them to think of the literal meaning of the words prevent/enable. Responses were then codified by two blinded researchers.

Students reported significantly different types of control beliefs between groups. Those in the standard group reported significantly more overall beliefs (p's<.05, except sleep/enable), suggesting poorer discrimination in interpreting what was meant by 'prevent' and 'enable'.

With a large genome assembly size of 4.55 Gb, the chromosome-scale assembly includes 747 scaffolds with an N50 of 539.8 Mb and 1.79% gaps. Long terminal repeats (LTRs) constitute a high proportion of the genome and their expansion is a key contributor to the inflated genome size in this species. This is very different from other small amphibian genomes, but similar to that of the enormous axolotl genome. The genome retains a large number of duplicated genes, with tandem (TD) and proximal duplications (PD) the predominant mode of duplication. A total of 122 gene families have undergone significant expansion and were mainly enriched in sensory perception of smell and bitter taste. Most of Na+ /K+ -ATPase genes experienced accelerated evolution along Bufonid lineages and two amino acid sites involving toad-toxin resistance were found to experience positive selection. We also revealed a dynamic evolution of olfactory and vomeronasal receptor gene families which was likely driven by the water-to-land transition. The high-quality genome of the Asiatic toad will provide a solid foundation to understand the genetic basis of its many biological processes.
