Unveiling the non-linear effect regarding sectoral end result on polluting the within Malaysia.
Background and objectives The COVID-19 outbreak has become a major health and economic crisis. The World Health Organization declared it a pandemic in March 2020, and many sporting events were canceled. Materials and Methods We examined the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on endurance and ultra-endurance running (UER) and analyzed finishes and events during the COVID-19 pandemic (observation period March 2020-October 2020) to the same time period pre-COVID-19 outbreak (March 2019-October 2019). Results Endurance finishes decreased during the pandemic (459,029 to 42,656 (male 277,493 to 25,582; female 181,536 to 17,074; all p less then 0.001). Similarly, the numbers of endurance events decreased (213 vs. 61 events; p less then 0.001). Average marathon finishing times decreased during the pandemic in men (51803 ± 01634 vs. 44308 ± 02508 hmins (p = 0.006)) and women (53932 ± 01929 vs. 51429 ± 02636 hmins (p = 0.02)). In UER, finishes decreased significantly (580,289 to 110,055; p less then 0.001) as did events (5839 to 1791; p less then 0.001). Popular event locations in United States, France, UK, and Germany decreased significantly (p less then 0.05). All distance and time-limited UER events saw significant decreases (p less then 0.05). Conclusions The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant effect on endurance and UER, and it is unlikely that running activities return to pre-pandemic levels any time soon. Mitigation strategies and safety protocols should be established.Non-conductive structural ceramics are receiving ever-increasing attention due to their outstanding physical and mechanical properties and their critical applications in aerospace and biomedical industries. However, conventional mechanical machining seems infeasible for the machining of these superior ceramics due to their extreme brittleness and higher hardness. Electro discharge machining (EDM), well known for its machining of electrically conductive materials irrespective of materials hardness, has emerged as a potential machining technique due to its noncontact nature when complemented with an assistive electrode technique. This paper investigates the material removal mechanism and effects of machining parameters on machining speed and dimensional and profile accuracies of features machined on zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) ceramics using assistive electrode EDM. Our experimental results demonstrate that both increasing peak current and pulse on time improves the MRR, however, it also aids in generating thicker layer on machined surface. In addition, pulse interval time is crucial for the machining of nonconductive ceramics, as larger value might cause the complete removal of intrinsic carbon layer which may lead to non/sparking condition. Higher peak current increases circularity whereas short pulse on and pulse off time aid in increasing circularity due to rough machining. In addition, taperness is found to be regulated by the peak current and pulse on time. Overall, thermal cracking and spalling appear to be a dominating material removal mechanism other than melting and evaporation for the EDM of ZTA.Fabricating future materials by self-assembly of nano-building blocks programmed to generate specific lattices is among the most challenging goals of nanotechnology and has led to the recent concept of patchy particles. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/Lapatinib-Ditosylate.html We report here a simple strategy to fabricate polystyrene nanoparticles with several silica patches based on the solvent-induced self-assembly of silica/polystyrene monopods. The latter are obtained with morphological yields as high as 99% by seed-growth emulsion polymerization of styrene in the presence of 100 nm silica seeds previously modified with an optimal surface density of methacryloxymethyl groups. In addition, we fabricate "magnetic" silica seeds by silica encapsulation of preformed maghemite supraparticles. The polystyrene pod, i.e., surface nodule, serves as a sticky point when the monopods are incubated in a bad/good solvent mixture for polystyrene, e.g., ethanol/tetrahydrofuran mixtures. After self-assembly, mixtures of particles with two, three, four silica or magnetic silica patches are mainly obtained. The influence of experimental parameters such as the ethanol/tetrahydrofuran volume ratio, monopod concentration and incubation time is studied. Further developments would consist of obtaining pure batches by centrifugal sorting and optimizing the relative position of the patches in conventional repulsion figures.Defect detection in ferromagnetic substrates is often hampered by nonmagnetic coating thickness variation when using conventional eddy current testing technique. The lift-off distance between the sample and the sensor is one of the main obstacles for the thickness measurement of nonmagnetic coatings on ferromagnetic substrates when using the eddy current testing technique. Based on the eddy current thin-skin effect and the lift-off insensitive inductance (LII), a simplified iterative algorithm is proposed for reducing the lift-off variation effect using a multifrequency sensor. Compared to the previous techniques on compensating the lift-off error (e.g., the lift-off point of intersection) while retrieving the thickness, the simplified inductance algorithms avoid the computation burden of integration, which are used as embedded algorithms for the online retrieval of lift-offs via each frequency channel. The LII is determined by the dimension and geometry of the sensor, thus eliminating the need for empirical calibration. The method is validated by means of experimental measurements of the inductance of coatings with different materials and thicknesses on ferrous substrates (dual-phase alloy). The error of the calculated coating thickness has been controlled to within 3% for an extended lift-off range of up to 10 mm.Food reward (i.e., liking and wanting) has been shown to decrease after different types of weight management interventions. However, it is unknown whether specific dietary modalities (continuous (CER) vs. intermittent (IER) energy restriction) have differing effects on liking and implicit wanting after weight loss (WL) and whether these changes are sustained after 1-year of no-contact. Women with overweight or obesity (age 18-55 years) were randomly allocated to controlled-feeding CER (25% daily energy restriction) or IER (alternating ad libitum and 75% energy restriction days). Study visits were conducted at baseline, post-WL (to ≥5% WL within 12 weeks) and 1-year post-WL. The main outcomes were liking and implicit wanting for 4 categories of common food varying in fat and taste assessed by the Leeds Food Preference Questionnaire. Linear mixed models were conducted on the 30 participants achieving ≥5% WL and 15 returners. After an initial WL of -5.1 ± 0.2 kg, after 1-year 2.6 ± 0.5 kg were regained. Liking but not wanting decreased after WL.
