Concerning our CSF parameters, we detected intrathecal IgG synthesis in 14% of ABS + COG and in 13% of ABS - COG patients, whereas no intrathecal IgG synthesis was found in ADCOG patients. Cognitive Behavior Therapy has proven useful to manage such problems. There is also growing evidence on the usefulness of Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT) in treating various functional deficits in ASD. This exploratory study is aimed at assessing the changes in cognitive functions in children with ASD, and the putative subtending neurophysiological mechanisms, following the provision of rehab training using an innovative VRT system. Twenty patients with ASD, aged 6-15 years, were provided with 24 sessions of VRT by using the pediatric module of the BTS NIRVANA System. Neuropsychological and EEG evaluations were carried out before and at the end of the training. After VRT, all patients showed a significant improvement in their cognitive-behavioral problems concerning attention processes, visuospatial cognition, and anxiety. These findings were paralleled by an evident reshape of frontoparietal connectivity in the alpha and theta frequency range. Our study suggests that VRT could be a useful and promising tool to improve ASD neurorehabilitation outcomes. This improvement is likely to occur through changes in frontoparietal network connectivity following VRT.The double stent-assisted techniques for the treatment of wide neck bifurcation aneurysms (WNBAs) may be more complicating than single stent-assisted or balloon-assisted coiling. The Comaneci device (Rapid Medical, Yokneam, Israel) is a new temporary bridging device developed for covering the aneurysm neck during coiling. This new design enabled us to treat unruptured WNBAs with the use of single stent-assisted coiling instead of double stent in eight patients. At the 1-year angiographic follow-up, there was no filling in any aneurysm. There was no mortality or morbidity cases related to the procedure. In this study, we are reporting our experience of using single stent-assisted coiling combined with a Comaneci device in the treatment of unruptured WNBAs.Burkina Faso (BF) is a landlocked Sahelian country located in the middle of West Africa. Sixty-three local languages are spoken in BF. Despite this high diversity, the BF population remains poorly investigated, and updated forensic parameters with a large number of Y chromosome short tandem repeats (Y-STRs) are still missing. Herein, 447 DNA samples were typed for a cocktail of 29 Y-STR loci. None of these 447 individuals in total shared a common haplotype. The overall Y-STR haplotypes were successfully uploaded online on the Y-STR Haplotype Reference Database (YHRD) with the accession numbers YA004690 and YA004691. When pH increases from 6.0 to 7.0, Au/Cu NCs change from aggregation to dispersion, accompanied by the oxidation of Cu cores. Under the catalysis of urease, urea is hydrolysed to release ammonia, which further undergoes a hydrolysis reaction to produce OH-, causing the pH to increase. The fluorescence of Au/Cu NCs quenches linearly at 590 nm with the excitation wavelength at 320 nm when the concentration of urea varies from 5.0 to 100 μM. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) of urea are 2.23 and 7.45 μM, respectively. Combined with headspace single-drop microextraction technology, Au/Cu NCs are employed to monitor dissolved ammonia with low-cost and simple operation. The linear range of dissolved ammonia is from 20 to 300 μM. The LOD and LOQ of dissolved ammonia are 7.04 and 23.4 μM, respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) values of the intra-day and inter-day precision of urea are 2.4-3.0% and 3.0-3.7%, respectively, and those of dissolved ammonia are in the range 3.4-5.1% (intra-day precision) and 4.2-5.8% (inter-day precision). No interferences have been indentified in the determination of urea and dissolved ammonia. However, the impact of sarcopenia or malnutrition on the long-term prognosis of HD patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) remains unclear. We analyzed 1,605 consecutive patients with ACS who had undergone PCI at a single center between January 2009 and December 2014. We evaluated all-cause mortality and prognosis-associated factors, including sarcopenia/malnutrition-related factors such as the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI), and Skeletal Muscle Mass Index (SMI). After exclusions, 1461 patients were enrolled, and 58 (4.0%) were on HD. The HD group had lower levels of SMI and GNRI than non-HD group, and had worse in-hospital prognosis.
