05). The highest (p less then 0.05) content of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) was determined in the breast (38.06%) and leg (37.63%) muscles of chicken receiving feed rations containing Silybum marianum throughout the rearing period. No effect of nutrition on the evaluated physical properties of muscles was observed, except on the decrease in lightness color (L*) and increase in values a* and C as well as a decrease of water holding capacity of the breast muscles. It was found that Silybum marianum in chicken diets had a positive effect on the evaluated meat flavor characteristics of the muscles. To sum up, based on the study results, including ground seeds of milk thistle in broiler chickens nutrition can be recommended in the amount of 2/3% in starter/grower diets, respectively.Drug resistance studies on human γ-herpesviruses are hampered by the absence of an in vitro system that allows efficient lytic viral replication. Therefore, we employed murine γ-herpesvirus-68 (MHV-68) that efficiently replicates in vitro as a model to study the antiviral resistance of γ-herpesviruses. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of resistance to nucleoside (ganciclovir (GCV)), nucleotide (cidofovir (CDV), HPMP-5azaC, HPMPO-DAPy) and pyrophosphate (foscarnet (PFA)) analogues and the impact of these drug resistance mutations on viral fitness. Viral fitness was determined by dual infection competition assays, where MHV-68 drug-resistant viral clones competed with the wild-type virus in the absence and presence of antivirals. Using next-generation sequencing, the composition of the viral populations was determined at the time of infection and after 5 days of growth. Antiviral drug resistance selection resulted in clones harboring mutations in the viral DNA polymerase (DP), denoted Y383SGCV, Q827RHPMP-5azaC, G302WPFA, K442TPFA, G302W+K442TPFA, C297WHPMPO-DAPy and C981YCDV. Without antiviral pressure, viral clones Q827RHPMP-5azaC, G302WPFA, K442TPFA and G302W+K442TPFA grew equal to the wild-type virus. However, in the presence of antivirals, these mutants had a growth advantage over the wild-type virus that was moderately to very strongly correlated with antiviral resistance. The Y383SGCV mutant was more fit than the wild-type virus with and without antivirals, except in the presence of brivudin. The C297W and C981Y changes were associated with a mutator phenotype and had a severely impaired viral fitness in the absence and presence of antivirals. The mutator phenotype caused by C297W in MHV-68 DP was validated by using a CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing approach.Building upon the resounding therapeutic success of monoclonal antibodies, and supported by accelerating progress in engineering methods, the field of multispecific therapeutic antibodies is growing rapidly. Over 140 different molecules are currently in clinical testing, with excellent results in recent phase 1-3 clinical trials for several of them. Multivalent bispecific IgG-modified formats predominate today, with a clear tendency for more target antigens and further increased valency in newer constructs. The strategies to augment anticancer efficacy are currently equally divided between disruption of multiple surface antigens, and additional redirection of cytotoxic T or NK lymphocytes against the tumor. Both effects complement other modern modalities, such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors and adoptive cell therapies, with which multispecifics are increasingly applied in combination or merged, for example, in the form of antibody producing CAR-T cells and oncolytics. While mainly focused on B-cell malignancies early on, the contemporary multispecific antibody sector accommodates twice as many trials against solid compared to hematologic cancers. An exciting emerging prospect is the targeting of intracellular neoantigens using T-cell receptor (TCR) fusion proteins or TCR-mimic antibody fragments. Considering the fact that introduction of PD-(L)1 inhibitors only a few years ago has already facilitated 5-year survival rates of 30-50% for per se highly lethal neoplasms, such as metastatic melanoma and non-small-cell lung carcinoma, the upcoming enforcement of current treatments with "next-generation" immunotherapeutics, offers a justified hope for the cure of some advanced cancers in the near future.COVID-19 and subsequent social distancing guidelines have changed many aspects of people's daily lives including the way that they interact within their social environment. Pandemics are inherently social phenomena, and public health measures intended to curtail transmission of COVID-19 (e.g., quarantine and social distancing) have consequences for individuals with anxiety and depression. Using qualitative methods, respondents with previously diagnosed anxiety or depression identified ways in which COVID-19 affected their symptoms at multiple levels of the social ecological model (SEM). Key themes reported were organized following the SEM. Emergent themes at the individual level are isolation/loneliness, fear of contracting COVID-19, and uncertainty about the future. Themes at the interpersonal level are fears of family contracting COVID-19, separation from family members, and domestic relationships. Themes at the level of community and societal stressors are employment, community and societal systems, media, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Our findings demonstrate the ways that mental health, physical health/safety, and social environments are interrelated in the experience of COVID-19 for individuals diagnosed with anxiety or depression. These findings make a significant contribution to the literature as this is the first article to document mental health stressors related to the COVID-19 pandemic among individuals with diagnosed anxiety and depressive disorders. The genus Batracomorphus Lewis is the third largest leafhopper genus in the world, with its greatest diversity in the Oriental region. Here, nine species of Batracomorphus, including one new species, are recorded from Shaanxi Province, China, for the first time B. allionii (Turton), B. clavatus Cai and Shen, B. fletcheri Hu and Dai sp. nov., B. geminatus (Li and Wang), B. juno Knight, B. lateprocessus Li and Wang, B. lunatus Cai and He, B. subfuscus (Li and Wang) and B. pandarus Knight. selleck inhibitor Among them, B. juno Knight is recorded from China for the first time. One new synonym is revealed B.nigromarginattus Cai and Shen, 1999 is a junior synonym of B. subfuscus (Li and Wang, 1993). All taxa are described, and photographs of male genitalia are given based on observations of specimens from Qinling Mountain in Shaanxi of China. A key to the species found in Qinling Mountain of Shaanxi is also provided.
