Blockade of exosome biogenesis using the pharmacological inhibitor GW4869 reduced Stx2-Exo-mediated human renal cell death. Stx2-Exo isolated from human primary monocyte-derived macrophages activated caspase 3/7 and resulted in significant cell death in primary human renal cortical epithelial cells. Based on these results, we speculate that Stx-containing exosomes derived from macrophages may exacerbate cytotoxicity and inflammation and trigger cell death in toxin-sensitive cells. We used CO2 assimilation, OJIP transient and MR curves to analyse the photosynthetic characteristics of Welsh onion. The results showed that single high light stress caused a decrease in the net photosynthesis rate through stomatal limitation, while the single drought treatment and the combined stress induced nonstomatal limitation. FO and FJ increased, Fm decreased, and a distinct K-phase was induced. High light and drought stress blocked MR transients, leading to a gradual decrease in VPSI and VPSII-PSI . In general, photosynthesis of Welsh onion was inhibited by high light and drought, which destroyed the receptor and donor side of PSII and reduced electron transport capacity of PSII and PSI.Typhoid is a distinct gastrointestinal disease that largely affects the public by consumption of inadequately or partially cooked eggs from contaminated laying hen farms. This has led the research on laying hens to focus on controlling the contamination by an effective anti-Salmonella spp. agent in the intestine. The treatments included, control, without challenge; PC, Salmonella typhimurium challenged (STC); BP5, 5 ppm bacteriophage/kg + STC; BP10, 10 ppm bacteriophage/kg + STC, on Salmonella shedding, body organs inflammatory reactions, and expression of toll-like receptor (TLR), pro-inflammatory cytokines, and heat shock protein (HSP) in the jejunum, liver,and thigh muscle in the STC laying hens. The RT-PCR method was used to enumerate the number of Salmonella typhimurium in the organs. These results suggest that bacteriophage can be used as an effective agent to decrease S. Typhimurium contamination in laying hens and possibly lower S. Typhimurium transfer to foods.
The current study evaluates the effectiveness of an opportunistic mobile screening on the percentage of people who are aware of whether they may be hypertensive (in an observational study) and the effectiveness of reminder prompts on the percentage of people who seek further medical attention (in a randomised controlled trial).

The screening of 1227 participants (529 female) was conducted during the registration period of the 2018 Beirut International Marathon in Lebanon. Next, 266 participants whose screening indicated hypertension (64 Female) were randomly allocated to a treatment group or a control group in a 11 fashion. The treatment group received a reminder prompt to seek further medical attention for their potential hypertension and the control group did not. The overt nature of the text message meant that participants in the treatment group could not be blinded to their group allocation. The primary outcome is participants' self-reports of whether they sought further medical attention.

Self-medication with antibiotics is one of the leading causes of antibiotic resistance and drug therapy problems, making antibiotic self-medication practices a global concern. Despite global efforts to limit these practices, self-medication with antibiotics remains prevalent in developing countries. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and patterns of self-medication with antibiotics in Jordan and to compare the findings of self-medication practices with antibiotics with results from 2006.

A cross-sectional community-based study used a convenient sampling technique and recruited a large sample from all over Jordan. Between February and April 2019 trained 5th-year pharmacy students recruited participants (eg, door to door) who had taken antibiotics in the preceding month. The questionnaire consisted of 14 questions that aimed to describe the patterns of self-medication with antibiotics.

A total of 1928 participants took part in this study. Of the 1928 respondents, 40.4% reported having used an iotics in Jordan remains high. This is a significant concern that requires a quick response from the government authorities to develop a collaborative approach to stop the dispensing of antibiotics without a prescription.
Wound care documentation is an essential component of best practice wound management in order to enhance inter-disciplinary communication and patient care. However, evidence suggests that wound care documentation is often carried out poorly and sporadically.

Determine postoperative wound assessment documentation by acute care nurses and explore their perception of factors constraining adequate nursing documentation.

A two-phase sequential exploratory mixed methods design was used. Phase one A retrospective clinical chart audit of nurses' documentation was undertaken. A random selection of 200 medical records were reviewed over 3months at a provincial hospital in Vietnam. Phase two semi-structured interviews were conducted with 13 surgical nurses to explore their perceptions of factors influencing appropriate documentation. Inductive qualitative content analysis was applied for qualitative data. This manuscript adheres to COREQ guidelines for reporting the qualitative phase.
