LINC01410 upregulation correlated with poor prognosis. LINC01410 silencing suppressed proliferation, migration and invasion of CC cells. LINC01410 was the sponge for miR-2467. And LINC01410 promoted VOPP1 expression through inhibiting miR-2467. Lung cancer associated mortality is drastically increased due to a shortfall of early-stage detection, which remains a challenge. Herein, we aimed to detect lung cancer at an early-stage using CellCollector device. Methods 39,627 volunteers underwent low-dose computed tomography; 2508 cases with pulmonary nodules and 7080 with no pulmonary nodules were chosen. After follow-up, 24 patients were diagnosed with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and subjected to CTC detection using CellCollector, along with 72 healthy volunteers. Immunofluorescence staining for EpCAM/CKs and CD45 were performed for CTC validation. Results Fifteen out of twenty-four (stage I, n = 18; stage II, n = 6) early-stage lung cancer patients were found to be CTC-positive, whereas no CTC was found in the control group. Genetic mutation of TP53, ERBB2, PDGFRA, CFS1R and FGFR1 in the CTC revealed 71.6% of the mutation sites similar to the tumor tissues of 13 patients. Molecular characterization revealed higher expression of protein PD-LI in CTC (40%) as compared to tumor tissue (26.7%). Moreover, CTC clusters were detected in 40% of patients. Conclusion CTC detection using the CellCollector in early-stage NSCLC had a relative high capture rate. Moreover, CTC analysis is a prospective setting for molecular diagnostic in cases when tumor tissue biopsy is not desirable. © 2020 He et al.Purpose T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) affects lymphoid cells. Previous studies have reported that miRNAs play a significant role in T-ALL prognosis and have the potential to function as biomarkers in T-ALL. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis study was designed to evaluate the overall prognostic impact of miRNAs in T-ALL patients. Methods Eligible studies published between Jan 2010 and April 2018 were retrieved from online bibliographic databases based on multiple keywords to generate search strings. Meta-analysis was performed using the outcome measure, Hazard Ratio (HR). A survival analysis of all studies was conducted and a subsequent forest plot was generated to evaluate the pooled effect size, across all T-ALL patients. Subgroup analysis was conducted based on demographic characteristics and commonly represented miRNAs among the included studies. Results A total of 17 studies were included for systematic review, among which 16 studies were eligible for meta-analysis, which, in total discussed 32 different miRNAs. The mean effect size of HR value was 0.929 (CI 0.878-0984), which indicates a decrease in risk of death by 7.1%. The analysis was based on the random effects model with the heterogeneity measure index (I2) being 84.92%. The pooled effect size (HR) of upregulated and downregulated miRNA expressions on survival outcome in the T-ALL patient was 0.787 (CI 0.732-0.845) and 1.225 (CI 1.110-1.344) respectively. The subgroup analysis was performed based on demographic characteristics (age, gender, lactate dehydrogenase, WBC count) and expression of miR221 and miR46a. Conclusion Our systematic review and meta-analysis findings suggest that the overall miRNA expression is potentially associated with a decreased likelihood of death in T-ALL patients. Although our findings are inconclusive, the results point toward miRNA expression allowing for prognostic evaluation of T-ALL patients. © 2020 Sabarimurugan et al.A common side effect of chemotherapy in breast cancer is early menopause in premenopausal patients, which is mainly a result of an indirect form of ovarian ablation, and is associated with substantial impairment of quality of life. Suppressing the production of ovarian estrogen has been shown to reduce the recurrence of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer in premenopausal women, but whether it has an added advantage over tamoxifen is being discussed. Types of permanent ablation of the ovarian function include surgical oophorectomy and radiation-induced ovarian failure. Both are associated with similar response rates in hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer. Medical castration with luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogs (LHRHa) has the benefit of being a reversible approach. Another advantage that premenopausal patients who wish to reduce the risk of developing premature ovarian insufficiency induced by chemotherapy may be offered LHRHa irrespective of whether they desire pregnancy and their age at diagnosis. This also helps reduce the risk of menopausal signs and symptoms as well as the loss of bone density in the long-term, which are primary concerns for women. This is of utmost importance to premenopausal women who do not want to conceive after treatment or are not candidates for fertility preservation strategies because of age. It should be emphasized that for women who are interested in fertility preservation, gamete cryopreservation remains the first option, and LHRHa is not an alternative. During chemotherapy, however, temporary ovarian suppression with LHRHa may be given to women who either have no access to a fertility clinic or who have declined chemotherapy or have contraindications. © 2020 Durrani and Heena.
