However, it is unclear whether TEG parameters are associated with sepsis-induced coagulopathy (SIC). Thus, we aimed to assess the diagnostic value of TEG for SIC. The medical records of patients who underwent TEG from January 2016 to December 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into sepsis group and non-sepsis group. Baseline patient characteristics and coagulation function indexes were compared. Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis was used to determine predictors of SIC. A total of 167 patients were included, of whom 84 had sepsis. The clot formation speed (K) was significantly higher(P less then 0.001), and the maximum amplitude (MA) and angle were significantly lower (both P less then 0.001) in the sepsis group than that in non-sepsis group. Patients with SIC had higher Sepsis-related Organ Failure Assessment scores than those patients without SIC (P less then 0.001). The area under the curve of K for diagnosing SIC was 0.910. The area under the curve of angle and MA for excluding SIC was 0.895 and 0.882, respectively. Findings of a 9-item assessment of self-management abilities subscale of the nurses' role in HTCP tool are reported. The nurse respondents (n = 1269), identified the most frequently assessed SMA was the YYAs' ability to understand and speak about their condition and its treatment (M = 2.3, SD = .89). The least frequently assessed was the YYAs' ability to identify community advocates to help them become more independent (M =1.5, SD = .90). Regression analysis identified significant predictors of the frequency nurses assess YYA for SMA included nurses' level of knowledge, perceived level of importance, HCTP and skills identified in job description, and caring for YYA. Dispositional mindfulness has been shown to be empirically associated with socio-demographic characteristics and empathy among the general population. This research aimed to assess dispositional mindfulness in a sample of undergraduate medical students and to investigate its association with gender, age, and empathy. Hypotheses It is hypothesized that male medical students would show, on average, higher dispositional mindfulness than their female counterparts, and that older students would exhibit higher dispositional mindfulness than younger ones. Dispositional mindfulness was also expected to be positively associated with the ability to feel compassion for others and to adopt their perspective, and negatively associated with the personal distress in tense interpersonal settings. Method An exploratory cross-sectional study was conducted. Data were gathered from a large sample (N = 933) of Italian non-meditating second- and fifth-year medical students.
