We collected and analysed data from confirmed cases of GLA poisoning between May 2018 and August 2020. Based on the occurrence of neurological complications (mental change, seizure, and central apnoea), patients were assigned to one of two groups those with complications (NCx) and without (non-NCx) complications. Concentrations of glufosinate, 1-methoxy-2-propanol (1M2P), and ammonia were measured in the serum upon admission and during hospital stay. The concentrations of all these substances were again measured in the CSF following a decline in the mental status or seizure (NCx group) or on the day after hospitalisation (non-NCx group).

Of the 20 patients included, ammonia levels in the serum and CSF at onset of altered sensorium in the NCx group (
 = 16) were significantly higher than those at one day after hospitalisation in the non-NCx group (
 = 4) (
 = 0.011 in serum,
 = 0.047 in CSF), with its concentration in the CSF being higher than that in the serum in 15/16 cases. The concentration of 1M2P was similar in the serum and CSF (8/16), but the concentrations of glufosinate (7/16) was lower in the CSF than in the serum. In the non-NCx group (
 = 4), only ammonia was detectable.

Our aim was to evaluate the effect of inflow stenting of TASC-II C, D iliac lesions on femoropopliteal bypass patency.

A retrospective observational cohort study of patients who underwent femoropopliteal bypass with TASC-II C, D iliac artery stenting (hybrid group) or without inflow lesions (non-hybrid group) was conducted. After propensity score matching, 120 patients were included in the non-hybrid group and 60 patients in the hybrid one. The median follow-up was 432 (193; 1313) days in the hybrid group and 472 (196; 1376) days in the non-hybrid group (
= 0.94).

No significant differences were found between the groups in 30-day morbidity and serious adverse events. At 3 years, primary and secondary bypass patency for the hybrid group and non-hybrid group were 62.2% versus 59.9% (
= 0.36) and 63.7% versus 64.3% (
= 0.077), respectively. The primary patency of the iliac stents in patients of the hybrid group was 95% at 3 years. The estimated hazard ratio for primary patency for hybrid versus non-hybrid was 0.77, with 90% CI 0.50-1.21; the noninferiority upper bound being 1.31, which corresponds to a 10% additive noninferiority margin for probabilities. The 3 years of freedom from amputation in patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia was 94.1% and 75.0% in the hybrid and non-hybrid groups, respectively (
= 0.09).

Menstrual disturbances are associated with impaired bone health in endurance athletes. This study aimed to investigate the association between menstrual function and BSI and explore whether plyometric training may protect against BSI in individuals with menstrual disturbances. Competitive female distance runners (n = 183) aged 18-40 years were surveyed for training habits, menstrual function, and BSI, during the previous 12 months. Oligo/amenorrhoea during the previous 12 months ( less then 9 menses) was deemed to indicate menstrual disturbance; hormonal contraceptive users and those previously diagnosed with a pathology that impacted menstrual function were excluded. BSI incidence rate was 2.25 (p = 0.02, 95% CI 1.14-4.41) times greater in oligo/amenorrhoeic than eumenorrhoeic runners. Oxyphenisatin BSI incidence rate was similar in oligo/amenorrhoeic and eumenorrhoeic runners that did plyometric training, but 3.78 (p = 0.001, 95% CI 1.68-8.5) times greater in oligo/amenorrhoeic versus eumenorrhoeic runners that did not. However, the effect of plyometrics was non-significant (menstrual function × plyometric training interaction, p = 0.06; main effect, p = 0.89). Conventional plyometric training may not reduce BSI incidence in female distance runners, but menstrual disturbances and prolonged periods of low energy availability should be avoided.
This exploratory study aimed to test the buffering effect of emotional intelligence in the associations between aggression against teachers, perceived stress, and withdrawal intentions.

A sample of 329 secondary school teachers (51.4% female) completed questionnaires assessing aggression against teachers, perceived stress, withdrawal intentions, and emotional intelligence.

The results showed that emotional intelligence was negatively related to perceived stress and withdrawal intentions. Across moderated-mediation analysis, there were mixed findings regarding the moderating effects of emotional intelligence in the proposed model. Findings indicated that emotional intelligence moderated only the association between perceived stress and withdrawal intentions.

These findings suggest that emotional intelligence is a psychological resource for mitigating the negative effects of perceived stress on negative work attitudes among teaching professionals in the context of harmful student behaviors. Possible avenues for including emotional intelligence in the field of teacher victimization are discussed.
