However, global plant microbiome datasets are insufficient to be used effectively for breeding this new generation of crop plants. We surveyed the diversity and temporal composition of fungal communities in the root and rhizosphere of Brassica napus, the world's second largest oilseed crop, weekly in eight diverse lines at one site and every three weeks in sixteen lines, at three sites in 2016 and 2017 in the Canadian Prairies. 14,944 unique amplicon sequence variants (ASV) were detected based on the internal transcribed spacer region, with an average of 43 ASVs per root and 105 ASVs per rhizosphere sample. Temporal, site-to-site, and line-driven variability were key determinants of fungal community structure. Patients were treated according to their CYP2D6 functional status or empirically and compared for both their Length of Stay (LOS, primary outcome) at the hospital and Re-Admission Rate (RAR, secondary outcome) 30 days after discharge. The trial was conducted at the Institute of Living (Hartford Hospital, Hartford CT). CYP2D6 genotyping was implemented to infer the functional status of the CYP2D6 enzyme and classify it as sub-normal, normal or supra-normal. The electronic medical record (EMR) transmitted to the physician the indicated drug prescribing guidance. During the RCT, 1500 patients were recruited and 1459 genotyped for CYP2D6. A 12 randomization assigned 477 patients to standard therapy (Group S) and 982 to genetically-guided therapy (Group G). In Group S, standard empiric treatment was indicated for all patients. In Group G, medications primarily metabolized by the CYP2D6 enzyme were proscribed for patients with sub- or supra-normal CYP2D6 function. The cruise was carried out between 8 and 28 April 2017 onboard R/V Hespérides, departing from Ushuaia and arriving to Santos. Along its track, the vessel recorded near-surface temperature and salinity, as well as the horizontal flow from 20 m down to about 800 m. A total of 33 hydrographic stations were completed in a region off the Patagonian Shelf, within 41.2°S-35.9°S and out to 53.0°W. At each station, a multiparametric probe and velocity sensors were deployed inside the frame of a rosette used to collect water samples at selected depths; these samples were later used for several water analyses, including inorganic nutrient concentrations. Microstructure measurements were carried out in 11 of these hydrographic stations. In addition, two high-resolution three-dimensional surveys were conducted with an instrumented undulating vehicle between 40.6°S-39.0°S and 55.6°W-53.8°W. Lastly, eight high-frequency vertical profilers were deployed in the region and five position-transmitting drifters were launched. These data allow the description of the Confluence from the regional scale to the microscale, and provide a view of the variability of the frontal region on time scales from days to weeks. © 2020 The Author(s).
