A Large Wood Burner May Release Harmful Particulates Into the Air
Wood burning stoves are excellent to heat rooms, but new research suggests that they release harmful pollutants into the air. These tiny particles PM2.5 PM2.5 are linked to heart and lung problems as well as dementia.
This DEFRA approved and Ecodesign stove is sleek and modern, heating rooms quickly and with minimal delays. The large flame view and airwash system also help this stove look great in any setting.
The Blithfield
The Blithfield is an EcoDesign-ready and DEFRA-approved wooden burner that seamlessly blends contemporary and traditional styles. It features a huge porthole-like glass that is cleaned with an airwash system. It's designed for both cooking and burning logs as it comes with a warming rack and fiddle rail. It's also customizable with handles and controls available in brass or chrome in six different colors to suit your home.
All Clock stoves come with their own 'clockwork' control, making them among the most controlled in terms of flame/heat output available. This means that they are designed to meet the emission level of 2022 requirements of Ecodesign which is a UK-backed EU regulation that aims to improve our air quality.
modern wood burning stove is possible due to the pre-heated tertiary heat being drawn in from the bottom of the stove and the burn rate controlled with an additional rotary air control which allows for very low emissions. Together with a DEFRA-approved Smoke Control Area exempt firebox and the ability to burn wood with up to 20% moisture content this is one of the most powerful large stoves available on the market.
Stovax has adopted the classic style of their Sheraton wood burning stove and incorporated it with a cutting-edge, highly efficient and low emission combustion system to create a wood burner that can be easily integrated into an array of traditional and contemporary designs. The gorgeous bevelled frame and cornicing on the stove add to its design while the modern design of the firebox ensures an uncluttered burn. This makes it SIA Ecodesign compatible and suitable for smoke-control zones.
There are two variations of the Sheraton one being a log store version that will sit flush within the chimney breast that is chambered, and a standard leg model that is ideal for fitting into an inglenook opening. Both models have a nominal power output of 5kW, and provide excellent fire viewing via the large glass panel. They're available in a choice of finishes as well as the pictured matt black and can be customized with a range of optional additional features like brass or stainless steel handles and direct air kit. For more information on the Sheraton or to arrange a visit to our showroom to experience these stunning stoves in action, please use the form above to locate your nearest dealer and an approved installer.
The Huntingdon
A large wood stove is an excellent addition to any home. It's also a great heating option, particularly when it is well-engineered and has a high seasonal efficiency. New log burners must meet strict environmental and health standards and must limit the amount of smoke emissions up to 5g carbon monoxide every hour. To lessen the impact on your home, it's essential to opt for a stove that has a wide flame image, a large window, an airwash system to keep the glass clear and a door with a removable handle for safety and convenience.
Stovax's Huntingdon is a huge traditional stove that fulfills all of these requirements. The wood-burning and multifuel versions are both DEFRA exempt stoves and offer an impressive heat output and a large viewing window for spectacular flame views and a unique closable grate on the multi-fuel variant for those times when you're wanting to burn logs. Both models come with a choice of clear or a tracery glass door which provides them with a more gothic look. They can be used in any room, from country cottages and modern townhouses.
These stoves are incredibly efficient in terms of energy consumption and boast an A+ efficiency rating, ensuring your fuel will be used most efficiently. The Huntingdon has a second air-control, which lets you adjust your fireplace to a constant state of operation, which can help reduce the cost of fuel and reducing emissions.
The wood-burning versions of the Huntingdon come with a choice of either a plain or chancery arched door for added personalization and the multi-fuel version can be purchased with an external riddling kit to simplify cleaning and maintenance. Both versions are available in a choice of graphite or black finishes, making them easy to match your existing decor.
All Ecodesign stoves emit a maximum of only 5g CO2 per hour, making them significantly safer than older models. This is a significant advancement as older stoves can emit up to 20g of CO2 an hour. This could be dangerous to your health and increase the risk of developing respiratory problems.
The Chilli Penguin Defrost
This 4.7kW stove can be used to defrost windows following a winter walk or cook a meal for the family. This Ecodesign and DEFRA exempt Stovax product is equipped with a brand new clean burn system which has three different features to achieve its remarkable efficiency. Combining secondary heat retention glazing, combustion jets, and air flow diverts helps to keep the internal temperature high, resulting in an even more efficient burning of fuel gases. This in turn produces lower harmful emissions and lowers the amount of particles that are released into the air.
The result is an extremely efficient stove that also benefits from an impressively large glass window that really lets you see the fire in the room. There are a variety of coloured handles and an angled chrome pedestal to match your interior. This top loading stove has a large flat surface for placing pans and kettles.
The Pengiun as with all Stovax stoves has passed all the necessary tests and inspections. It is only suitable for the purpose of burning wood or smokeless fuels that have been approved by DEFRA. If you burn unauthorised fuels you could be fined as much as PS1,000 per hour due to the amount of particles that are released into the air.
This is achieved by an innovative clean-burn system which has been upgraded with an air pre-heated feed that is delivered to the combustion chamber through channels and jets over the fire. The pre-heated air ignites volatile gases created by the fuel, resulting in a more complete combustion and a reduction in harmful emissions. It also creates an air cushion that is directed at the glass, referred to as an air wash, to give you a clear view of the flames.
This combination of systems ensures that the brand new Penguin stove meets the strictest emission standards and is classified as an "Ecodesign" stove. It emits less than 20 mg/m3 of carbon dioxide if you burn wood and 16 mg/m3 when you use smokeless fuels.
modern wood burning stove have shown that old-fashioned wood-burning stoves emit tiny particles of soot in air. These particles have been proven to cause poor air quality, which has been linked to lung and heart issues, dementia, and breathing issues. Modern models are DEFRA-approved, and manufactured to meet higher standards, meaning you can still enjoy a cozy fire in your home.
The Go Eco large wood stove is a large-screen version of the popular standard stove. It is also exempt from DEFRA and SIA Ecodesign-ready, which means it already meets European emission restrictions that will be in effect in 2022. Similar to its smaller counterpart it has a huge glass window for a stunning flame view as well as an impressive airwash system that keeps the glass clean. It has an energy efficiency of 80% rating and a 5kW heat output. The wider model means it can be installed in larger chimney openings and can be used for a variety of installation options.
Like the name suggests this is the ideal large wood burner for those who love to glamp, but it's equally suitable for any home installation. This dual fuel stove is fully equipped to heat water, cook and even burn logs. It's a ClearSkies level five stove, which means that it produces 90% less pollution than an open fireplace, and 80percent less pollution than stoves older than 10 years.
The GO ECO is a DEFRA-approved, multi-fuel stove with an efficiency rating of 80% and 5kW of heat output. It's also a level five clearSkies stove, so it's perfect for smoke control areas and can be used with any type of wood that is softwood or kiln-dried timber. It is easy to use, and has numerous different options for installation, like a bench, wall or pedestal. It has an open window that is kept clean by the airwashing system. It is also suitable for camping.
