Data on the use of Control-IQ, the latest FDA-approved automated insulin delivery (AID) system for people with T1D 6 years of age or older is still scarce, particularly regarding nonglycemic outcomes. Children with T1D and their parents are at higher risk for sleep disturbances. This study assesses sleep, psycho-behavioral and glycemic outcomes of AID compared to sensor-augmented pump therapy (SAP) therapy in young children with T1D and their parents.
Thirteen parents and their young children (ages 7-10) on insulin pump therapy were enrolled. Children completed an initial 4-week study with SAP using their own pump and a study CGM followed by a 4-week phase of AID. Sleep outcomes for parents and children were evaluated through actigraphy watches. Several questionnaires were administered at baseline and at the end of each study phase. CGM data were used to assess glycemic outcomes.
Actigraphy data did not show any significant change from SAP to AID, except a reduction of number of parental awakenings during the night (p = 0.036). Parents reported statistically significant improvements in Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index total score (p = 0.009), Hypoglycemia Fear Survey total score (p = 0.011), diabetes-related distress (p = 0.032), and depression (p = 0.023). While on AID, time in range (70-180 mg/dL) significantly increased compared to SAP (p < 0.001), accompanied by a reduction in hyperglycemia (p = 0.001).
These results suggest that use of AID has a positive impact on glycemic outcomes in young children as well as sleep and diabetes-specific quality of life outcomes in their parents.

This study evaluated the effects of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (B. amyloliquefaciens) TL106 isolated from Tibetan pigs' feces, on the growth performance, immune response, intestinal barrier function, morphology of jejunum, cecum and colon, and gut microbiota in the mice with enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC)-induced intestinal diseases.
Forty female C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into four groups mice fed a normal diet (Control), mice oral administration of TL106 daily (Ba), mice challenged with EHEC O157H7 on day 15 (O157), mice oral administration of TL106 daily and challenged with EHEC O157H7 on day 15 (Ba + O157). The TL106 was administrated to mice for 14 days, and mice were infected with O157H7 at day 15. We found that TL106 could prevent the weight loss caused by O157H7 infection and alleviated the associated increase of pro-inflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8) and decrease of anti-inflammatory factor (IL-10) in serum and intestinal tissues of mice caused by O157H7 infect prevent and treat intestinal disease induced by EHEC O157H7 in mice, which may be a promising probiotic for disease prevention in animals.The aim of this research work was to study the bioactivity potentials (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and enzyme inhibitory) of ethanol (EtOH), water (H2 O) and chloroform (CHCl3 ) extracts of G. applanatum, G. lucidum, G. pfeifferi and G. resinaceum as well as their mycochemical profile the total content of phenolics (TP) and sugars (TS) and LC/MS/MS detection of phenolics. LC/MS/MS profile showed that p-hydroxybenzoic and protocatechuic acids were mostly found. The highest ABTS and DPPH activities were detected in polar G. applanatum extracts (159.84±0.59 mg TE/g d.w., IC50 =0.85±0.30 μg/mL, respectively), while G. resinaceum CHCl3 extract was the most potent in NO assay (IC50 =41.21±0.18-81.89±0.81 μg/mL). The highest TP and TS were generally determined in G. applanatum EtOH extracts. Enzyme inhibitory effects were determined in H2 O extracts. Generally, CHCl3 extracts showed the most powerful anti-inflammatory potential. These results suggest that analyzed species are a promising source of bioactive compounds and may be considered as candidates for new food supplements or drug formulations.Examined here are the structures of complexes of benzophenone microsolvated with up to three water molecules by using broadband rotational spectroscopy and the cold conditions of a molecular jet. The analysis shows that the water molecules dock sideways on benzophenone for the water monomer and dimer moieties, and they move above one of the aromatic rings when the water cluster grows to the trimer. The rotational spectra shows that the water trimer moiety in the complex adopts an open-loop arrangement. Ab initio calculations face a dilemma of identifying the global minimum between the open loop and the closed loop, which is only solved when zero-point vibrational energy correction is applied. An OH⋅⋅⋅π bond and a Bürgi-Dunitz interaction between benzophenone and the water trimer are present in the cluster. This work shows the subtle balance between water-water and water-solute interactions when the solute molecule offers several different anchor sites for water molecules.
We present our initial single-centre experience with Senhance surgical robot-assisted colorectal surgery and examine its safety and feasibility.
From June 2019 to December 2019, patients who underwent Senhance surgical robot-assisted colorectal surgery in our hospital were retrospectively analysed. We focused on the short-term outcomes.
In total, 46 patients were enrolled in the study. Colorectal cancer was the most common indication for surgery (39 patients). The median total operation time was 283 min, and the median blood loss was 50 cc. Meanwhile, the median number of harvested lymph nodes was 20. Elderly age, advanced American Society of Anaesthesiologists stage, and right-sided colon surgery were associated with the occurrence of complications greater than grade III.
Our findings demonstrate the feasibility and safety of the Senhance surgical robotic system in colorectal surgery. AG120 Care should be taken regarding the indications and patient selection.
